Do you step on your carpet with your shoes on?

I don't get what you mean by that but we always take our shoes off at my house (and no we aren't asian...)
 
The good carpets upstairs yes.

The crappy carpet in the basement no, it's probably dirtier than my shoes.

The two bedrooms and second living room (two 20 year old boys live down here) probably have never been vacuumed.

Hell yes I wear shoes in my house. On my carpet, even!

For the price I have to pay for carpet, I damn well better not have to tolerate the inconvenience of removing my shoes.

Hell no. I always take my shoes off in my house, and other houses that I visit. Everyone that comes over also takes their shoes off.

This is all news to me, I never take my shoes off when entering the houses of others, and I don't expect them to do it at mine either 🙂

Always wear my shoes. The again, this is just a dorm room. Haven't even vacuumed it yet (been a month) but it looks clean enough to me. And certainly better than other hell hole rooms I've seen
 
im from easterno-central europe (czech rep) and its pretty much a custom to take off your shoes. Same thing in our house for the most part. (crapy carpet ala over the floor - noone cares, "persian" cotton carpet - my mom woulda whoop my ass if you dont take em off)

In my apartment, nope. One asian guy and two asian girls. No choice in the matter. 😉
