If I remember them, and state so here, does that increase the risk of being kidnapped and tortured until I reveal the numbers? 😛
For what it's worth, the CW2 number really doesn't make it that much more secure; but it does limit where someone can go with the number. There have been several times where I used to work when another employee forgot to get the CW2 number (on a phone order). When I entered the CC# manually, I just said "yes" to "card is present? y/n" Of course, these were always deliveries, so I just wrote the address on the CC receipt (our copy), just in case. (rather than bother a customer to answer the phone, get their CC card back out, and give the number.)
I doubt that we were the only place that did that.
