Unfortunately, I've had to check it a lot lately. There was some card duping out here (cashier takes your card, swipes it, and then gives you back a card that looks like yours, but it has wrong number/name on it). Sometimes online shopping is infinitely more secure than going against a human opponent.

I don't always remember the number on the back because it changes when my cards expire and I get new ones. But I've had my DL # memorized since HIgh School, main CC# memorized sicne I use it online all the time, etc.
