As far as anyone on this board should be concerned she has accomplished and earned more on her own than anyone else here probably every will.

I can't claim that I know any more or less about her than you can, but let's be honest here. What exactly do you know for a fact that she does to have earned her immense amount of wealth which sets her apart from business owners that make much less than she does but are still considered successful? I really doubt that she does that much more work. She just happened to get hooked up due to her family fame and fortune. From there, she has been spoon fed everything she needs to make even more money. The only reason so many people spoon fed her is because they wanted a piece of the pie. Odds are, she hasn't done jack shit in comparison to most successful business owners who don't even have 1/10 of the money she has.

Also, "accomplished" and "successful" are very subjective terms. I don't look at her and think "accomplished or "successful". I look at her and think "rich". There is a huge difference in my mind.

Read her resume on wikipedia....she HAS DONE ALOT! Hard work is totally subjective too.

The vast majority of that stuff involved cameo appearances, minor roles in movies, and being a guest star in some TV programs. She has also participated in tons of adverting. All of this revolves around the fame she was born with. They are all activities that most celebs whose career is over participate in to make more money. Unlike most celebs that do such things, Paris never had to go through the "career" part. Instead, it was thrown into her lap thanks to her family fame. She was born as a cash register and people kept coming along to get a piece of it. That's her story.

So a cameo isn't work? Auditions are not work? Shooting 5 seasons of your own reality show isn't work? Wow I assume you are in the entertainment biz cuz you see to know exactly how much work(or lack there of) is actually required to do all those things.

If I have to wake up at 5 am and fly first class across the country for a 3 hour meet and greet and then fly back.....thats a 15 hour work day no matter how easy it was to stand and smile for 3 hours.

you've already formed your belief she is mindless, talentless, worthless person so no amount of reasoning or facts i provide will change your belief.

I never claimed that what she does isn't work. I also have not claimed that she is a "mindless, talentless, worthless person". I am only claiming that she was able to skip many of the steps that it takes to get to where she is due to her families fame and fortune. Those steps are the hardest but they were handed to her practically for free. Those steps count for a lot when it comes to my admiration and respect in terms of becoming successfully wealthy.

I believe that this is much more about convincing you to not assume what I actually believe than it is you trying to change my mind.

ok well there is nothing further to discuss then.

KT

Provide some examples of people that are insanely wealthy and popular that didn't work hard and have no skills.

I dunno, Paris Hilton and the entire group of clods she hangs with is what came to mind as I was writing that.

Personally i think 99% of rap artists are untalented but thats b/c i hate that music. It does puzzle my mind that if you produce one platinum album today you're mega wealthy (MC Hammer for example). And yes i know MC Hammer is no longer wealthy but that has nothing to do with how much he got for producing the VERY limited music he did.

But are they really happy w/ all that money? Now that Ferrari's in GT5, I can honestly say I'm more happy than people who drive real Ferrari. GT5+G25 wheel is the win!

Its easy to see why Platinum selling artists are rich. They made music that got x number of people to buy their albums, hence they are rich. Their contribution is easily calculated.

Its less clear to me how CEOS affect the profitability of their company vs say doing nothing different to the status quo. This is similar to people blaming/praising the president for the economy of the country or the coach for the success/failure of a sports team . I think people tend to put far too much emphasis on what they think one individual can do to affect a large entity.

They manage money, like a mutual fund manager. They do not operate actual product producing businesses (Usually). The difference between a hedge fund and a mutual fund is that hedge funds are exempt from most of the legal rules involved in mutual funds (mutuals are not allowed to go short on positions, invest in options or currencies, and other government mandated restrictions) and only high end investors are allowed in hedge funds (because the government wants to protect you from yourself).

It's a scam on the middle class by "mother knows best" politicians who prevent the middle class from investing in hedge funds "for their own good." (because the risk is higher) They then force the middle class to invest in mutual funds, which barely preserve wealth (what good is 10 percent a year when inflation eats up 3 or 4 of it?). While many hedge funds will return 30-100% per year, for 10 years straight. The most talented money managers ALWAYS go to hedge funds because the pay is so much more. So it leaves the mutual fund companies stuck with some wanna-be, straight out of some Ivy League school, with his textbook investment strategies, to invest your money.
