Yep I hate staying in there longer than I have to. It's not like it's a comfortable seat anyways and you're busy doing something while you're in there. If I'm going to read something it's going to be in a comfortable chair and not in a room full of shit fumes.

I always read in the can. All my bathrooms at home have light reading books in them, plus I always have my trusty iPhone (and my other smartphones prior to that).

In one of our first apartments, you could see the bedroom TV from the shower. Awesome for getting ready during a football game.

I hear ya...

People that go in the bathroom with a magazine and take 30 minutes to pinch a loaf seriously need to buy some laxative.

My cheeks would be numb if I sat on the seat that long.....

I have to go out of my way to find something to read on the way to the bathroom.
I have a stack of magazines and books and have read them all 10 times.

Last December I gave away my gigantic stack of New Scientist magazines (3 years of weekly mags = huge ass pile) to a charity for kids that wouldn't get Christmas presents otherwise. I must have read every issue 10 times in the shitter. Now I have to search for something before I go.

Thankfully I've got two really good books on the go right now, so it hasn't been an issue.

I hope they wash their hands after reading them...

I seem to think better when I'm on the can, so I just sit there and think.

I live alone and I do... no real reason not to, I usually keep a couple magazines in the bathroom.

when I was in college, I found reading in the bathroom to be really useful for keeping up with all the reading I had to do for different classes. I think I read War and Peace almost entirely in toilet stalls.

I have a standard magazine rotation. The new ones spend about a week on my desk, then about 6 weeks next to the toilet.

YES. If no reading material is present, I start to read the labels off of my shampoo or whatever else is near me.

My god, some of you guys bore easily. Dropping a load has always been a time for me to kick back a bit and clear my head. Reflect on the day so far, and things yet to come (above and beyond turds). Seems to be a moment of real mental clarity, perhaps for the exact reason that there's absolutely nothing else to capture my attention.

Oh well, enjoy your old magazines I guess. I prefer my zen-like bathroom breaks.
