ooo lucky! Spektrum radios are awesome...I'm dying for their new 7-series computer radios. my wife says I have to buy her a house first though ;)

I like electric - airplanes, helis, boats, cars, and robotics. The only gas stuff I do is airplanes, but I've been leaning more on the electric side of those recently. My next step is a Spektrum radio and a nice 3D electric. The Typhoon series from ParkZone are looking pretty good to get into...maybe Santa will have pity on me this year :D

Not to hijack your thread, but I have a nephew who is mad about combines . . . he likes the RC cars we got him just fine, but I'd love to find him an RC combine. I haven't been able to find any on Google, so I was thinking . . . couldn't I just buy one and put RC guts into it? Are there any resources to point me in that direction?

RC combine like...farm equipment?

Yeah. I can find radio controlled tractors, but not combines.

You've never been around a kid, have you? ;) They're obsessed with the strangest things . . . last year it was Spider-Man.

I can just see him out on the lawn, Honey-I-Shrunk-the-Kids style - driving around his lawnmower with a remote control

The Mini's are really fun for people who don't know where to run Nitro cars. Backyard bashing with a RC18MT is awesome. Next RC I am going to get is the RC18T Factory Edition, because building is half the fun.

I got an RC18R that I'm going to drop a brushless system w/lipo in. it's gonna be mad fast!

I used to race electric off road RC cars in the mid-80's. Had an RC-10 about a year after they first came out and some kind of 4wd thing. It was fun. Then the tracks near my house closed. :( Not as fun without the racing, so I stopped.

There used to be a couple nice tracks around here until they also closed.
I'm thinking Insurance is INSANE for the tracks. :frown:

Let me tell ya its a huge upgrade. I put a Castle Creations Mamba 8000kv brushless on a 1/18 Losi Mini-T with a 3cell Lipo 1320mah. It has sick power. With the higher gear and programing it can reach close to 100mph. Right now its running in the 80mph range.
It can get away from ya quick so be careful!

Brushless is crazzyyy. I was considering putting the Mamba in my Venom Mini Giant, but I decided I would be setting myself up for spending money on aluminum parts. My friend has a Mini-T with that thing and he is breaking things all the time. :p

I have a nitro Traxxas T-maxx with upgraded engine that halls ass but my steering is so screwed up after crashing it so many times that I can't really use it anymore and don't feel like spending the money it'd take to fix it at this time so it's just been sitting for over a year doing nothing.

I know about brushless systems. I'm taking the brushless system (Wraith 7k/Quark 33a esc) out of my mini lst and putting it into the rc18r.

I'm also thinking about trying the new traxxas brushless system (Velineon) in my Hot Bodies Cyclone. I heard it's a good inexpensive brushless system for 1/10th scale vehicles.

Brushless is insane For those who don't know about the power of brushless motors, here's a Barbie jeep with Mamba Max brushless system...keep in mind this motor system is made for 1/10th scale cars...
