No, I already have a 6800GT agp. Soon I'm getting a 6800GT pci-e when the Asus A8N-SLI becomes available..

so are these just 'enhanced' replacements of the x800 series because they are easier to manufacturer?

So why wouldn't an X800XL interest you?
It's the most interesting card to me, and I would be tempted to buy one if I had the money.

stating that im going to couple an ati video card with an ati motherboard is rediculous? then i suppose coupling an nvidia card with an nvidia motherboard is rediculous too?

I'm stating that there is worth to some of the new ATi cards, while you just claim DaveA is a fanboy because he is saying ATi's new cards seem worthwhile (well, one of them).
 
You know, as much as I like ATI, I think the Doom3 engine is gonna be used most. After noticing how bad the shadows are in source from playing CS:S.
 
well its quite a while before i get a pci express video card. maybe i will grab a 6800 gt pcie and a sli capable mobo. probably a better choice actually...

I'm definately considering a Xpress 200 motherboard for my next platform, particularly with an intergrated Theater 550 chip. The X850XT PE with dual DVI would be nice too, and I think the X800XL is an interesting card as well.

I'm looking at getting a theater 550 TV card for my MCE rig at the very least.

It's hard not to view it as "astroturfing" when the ATI PCI-E chipset is clearly inferior the nVidia one. You are simply spouting fanboy astroturf. And one more "astroturf" for good measure.
 
the X800XL is nice, I have adored my 9xxx cards in the past from ATi, I would buy one of the new ones for sure.

*just finished installing the drivers for my new eVGA 6800GT* 😛
