I think you mean you haven't seen an X800 *PRO* for under $400. The X800 is a neutered version of the X800 Pro, with only half the memory and much lower clocks. In other words, you'd be better off taking that $250, rolling it up and smoking it.

IMO, anyone with a X800Pro/XT, or 6800GT/U has very little reason to care about these refreshes. Those with last years cards have reason to be happy with expanded product line and availability.
 
Leaning towards one if NF4 doesn't hurry up...but picking up a PCI-E 6600GT or a 6800GT and buying another 4-6 months down the road and putting them in SLI is tempting.
