Snow banks are no problem. I can get into (and out of) many places others can't.

I used to park my VW Beetle (real one, not the new fake ones) in spaces with the piled up snow all the time. I never understood why it pissed people off as I was not parking any closer to them than normal and was not parking illegally or blocking anything.

When I had a Jeep Cherokee, I parked it on a grassy incline when I couldn't find a parking space. I ended up getting a warning ticket.

Back when I had a Jeep I used to park it in the spots where the snow was all shoved to.

When I used to leave the parking garage I put used to drive over a couple parking barriers to the exit (it was empty, I was doing a computer project for the company during 3rd shift) instead of driving around for 5 minutes to get out. The security guys said they got a kick watching me leave every night.

That reminds me... the other day, a new Jeep Rubicon here in Anchorage parked on a big snowpile in a parking lot... the thing must have been on at LEAST a 40 degree incline. I watched a mallcop try to ticket it... he couldn't even climb up the snowpile to put the ticket on the window. Idiot. What would the offense be anyway? There WAS a legitimate spot or two underneath.

I'm in Anchorage too. Until it snowed yesterday, walking in the parking lots have been extremely treacherous. I'm still getting used to it. I'm definitely making a trip to REI to get me those ice gripper things. My friend ended up slipping and falling on her face at Koots the other night, and I ended up falling over at Kinleys a couple nights before that. I'm soooo ready for spring and summer.

 With the 4x4 on my truck, I'd park on snow drifts and so on when I lived in WV. Here, though, I sometimes park like a douchebag, when the spaces are too small. Pull straight into another space, or park to the right a bit to give some door room on the left. If I park like an asshole in a normal-sized space, it's not on purpose.

2.5 year bump is impressive.

As for me: Hell no. I am not a dumb redneck. I do not drive like one. I do not park like one. I always go right between the lines and I dont park at a 45 degree angle either.
Fuck all those assholes who think they are entitled by the Constitution to drive over sized penis compensator's. They keep fucking with their privileges and they're gonna lose them. I am already campaigning hard to make a more thorough test and more expensive license mandatory for such people. If they really need those fucking things then they can goddamn pay for it.

Right, because all pickup trucks are over sized penis compensators.

Good luck moving your sh!t in a Prius.

The only accurate thing you said in there is for more thorough license testing, but it needs to be for all people.

Back in the day I worked as parking lot attendant. At least once an hour during the day some 90 pound woman in a 6,000 pound truck would enter the lot and proceed to park her tank in two spaces. These woman would get hugely pissed when I could meet them at their driver's door as they were getting out to tell them to put the tank in a single space. Some of them would claim it wasn't possible!!

I remember one woman was particularly bitchy. She was driving an all black Dodge Ram 2500 with the head lamps, tail lamps and all windows blacked out. On the rear window was a big Dodge logo which read "If you can't Dodge It, Ram It!" The truck was sitting on big, fat, meatball tires and she swore up and down it couldn't be put in a single space. She refused my offer to park the truck correctly for her so I told her she had to pay for a second space. That really pissed her off. She refused and I said fine, I'll tow the POS. Well, that got her attention and she spent the next ten minutes maneuvering the truck to get it in the space and she did eventually.

These big trucks are NOT difficult to park if anyone has ever taught you how to drive and park one. One of the guys I worked with had an F150 that I drove sometimes. I was able to put it in a single space, straight and center without any problems.

Edit: After working in that parking lot I can tell you that everyone parks like an asshole though. There is no specific type of vehicle, race, gender, etc, etc - everyone does it and everyone acts like a child and gets angry, sometimes even violent when you tell them to park their car correctly or GTFO of the lot.

Lots of folks don't know how to drive any car. Lots of folks with pickups never learned to drive large vehicles. I think folks driving pickups could benefit from a couple of days of offroad driving. It would teach them where their tires are, how their vehicles turn, how far their bumpers are from their noses, how wide they are, what their mirrors are for and how to use them.
