Yes. Inspector 3 might have had an open cold sore and while checking that particular pair of boxers might have touched the open sore and then touched your underwear. This means you might get a transmission of genital herpes. Wash the boxers mang!

Yes, wash them. Chemicals used to treat the cloth may give you a rash. You don't want a rash in the places underwear touches.

I wash ALL new clothes, towels and bedding before first using them.

I tend to wash my new clothes before wearing them. Who knows how many people tried them on before you :)

I'd like to see the man who tries on boxers from a packet, that would be skilled.
Might be a bit disturbing if they had CCTV in the cgangin grooms and you tried on boxers, or if someone accidentally opened the door/curtain whatever

New clothes may have chemical finishes applied to make them "look better" on the rack.

Formaldehyde is often applied to clothing to prevent mildew.

Excess dyes can be a skin irritant.

Yikes, it sounds like a good idea to wash them first.

:)

Just put them on the floor with all of the rest of the dirty clothes. In a week, you'll forget they were ever new.

CorporateRecration is right, except I venture to say that you don't want rashes anywhere on your body. Wash all your new clothes.

If you've ever seen inside the shop of your typical clothes manufacturing company you'd know to wash them.
