Do you like your bed?

I'm in the market for a new mattress.

What kind of mattress do you have, and do you like it? Please specify brand (Sealy, etc.), size (twin, queen, king), any defining specs (soft, firm, double pillowtop, etc.), the price you paid and where you bought it.

Thanks!

I don't even remember what brand mine is and I never bother with that when shopping. I just lay on a bunch and pick what I like. Mattress shopping by brand doesn't work too well. My current mattress is a Cal-King that I bought for ~$550 at a factory outlet warehouse type place (it retailed for $2000ish).

It's pretty good. The box spring is too soft, though. We added a slab of 3/4" plywood between the mattress and spring and now it's much more comfortable.

It's not a name brand. It's from a local mattress manufacturer.

There are several threads here you can search for on this very subject.

I just bought a new bed and mattress. I got a Sealy posturepedic queen size pillowtop which is really comfortable. I don't know the exact model because i'm not at home right now but I know I got it from Rooms to go Outlet here in Charlotte and it was new for $599 for the matress and box spring.

I have no idea what brand it is. I got them free from my sister and they suck. Mattress shopping will be in my future plans.

I think mine's a Sealy, but I don't know. It doesn't much matter to me; after years of sleeping on a mattress laid on wooden slats my current mattress and boxsprings is like heaven. I just hit that bed and melt into it. So comfy.

nope i don't like my bed. its a cheap ($500) queen. though it is a pillow top. it was conferable when i first got it but now sucks.

i just bought some high density memory foam from ebay. paired it with some foam from jcpenny. lovin' it. a lot better than that cheap bed i used to have. vosted me about $300 total.

I have a TempurPedic and like it fine... I don't think it really makes as much of a difference as some people think. As some people in this thread have said, they sleep on the floor and are just fine - I've done that myself for a period of a couple years with no ill effects, although carpeting (or a folded blanket) helps on the comfort level.

Thanks for the recommendations, I think my price range is $600 or less. Right now, I have a Sealy queen-size double pillowtop (medium-soft?), and it's too soft... hurts my back, and has begun to cave in in the middle.

Well, I think my TempurPedic does make a huge difference...

I'm a very busy person with a physicially demanding job and I need quality sleep. Even if I only get a few hours of sleep, it's good sleep.
