I find it uncomfortable in many cases and I have no idea why. Sometimes (especially with someone I am comfortable with) it's fine, other times it bothers me and I try to avert my eyes for some reason.

My supervisor at a job I had never could look into my eyes when she talked. It was really weird!
Was she really good looking?
My eyes drill a hole through the skull of the person I'm talking to. I don't trust people who can't look me in eye, at least occasionally. And if you are checking your phone while talking to me (women especially), you are immediately dismissed as a talking to option.

Looking in the eyes is not hard for me,but the duration and frequency bothers me.
I have read somewhere that if you focus on the area between the eyebrows of the other person, during an eyecontact, you can present a false impression that you are looking at his eyes.Dont know how you can fake it long enough.I guess that's my problem. It's easy enough, but for how long? As time goes on it's more and more uncomfortable.
