flying is... flying. *shrug*

I neither love nor hate it. it's just something you do when you need to travel long distances.

longass flights suck, though. flying from NYC -> China = FTL
 
I used to hate to fly, but after having the oppertunity to fly first class, it changed my mind 😀

The only issue is that i can get really panic like in the bathrooms while on board. Thats all though.
I love to fly because it gets me to places that make me more happy than anything.
 
I don't particularly like flying, but from what I heard 😉, that's the only entrance into the coveted Mile High Club so I learn to love it.

damn right. crying kids are a big turn-off. only way to avoid them is first class which I cannot afford.

i fly a lot and i'm going to fly to phoenix, arizona and possibly san diego, california this summer for vacation. 😀
 
Aren't you more likely to survive in the back of the plane during a crash? I have read about it quite a bit. I would rather be uncomfortable in coach than die in 1st class.
 
I don't particularly care for the idea of being so high in the sky, but it's not enough to keep me from getting on a plane if I need to.

I actually enjoy the rookie pilots more ... they tend to overdo it on the takeoff and just hammer the throttle. 😀

I like all of the movement too, as long as I am not in the lavatory, pissing all over myself when we hit the turbulence!

The odds of dying via plane crash are pretty damn low to begin with, I'm in more danger driving in my car or walking down the street (Chicago drivers...*cringe*). Anyway if it's going down there is a pretty decent chance everyone on board is going to die anyway so why not have a comfy seat.
 
I was actually taking lessons to get my license till my mother came down with cancer and had to give it up, then my dad got it, then all hell in my life really broke out. But for the little time that I had behind an actual Cessna was a great experience. Even when the instructor almost killed us (full tanks on take off with wind on a short farm run way almost hitting the power lines on take off) didnt scare me enough to give up on it. It was a freakin blast.

One time taking off on a commercial liner out of Midway on take off we were climbing then the engines went to a complete cut off and we dropped like a rock, then the engines came back on full blast and we started to climb again. The pilot came on saying he was sorry but he had to do a maneuver for we almost hit another plane that got in our way 😱 That was kinda scary.

But a scary ride was on a little cramped two engine prop plane I had to take to another airport to catch another flight. Was packed, old loud as hell plane, thunder storms, the damn plane shook all over the place and we were all over bouncing like crazy. I was in the window seat over the wings watching them shaking up and down. Its amazing what the wings go through and dont come off considering they have the weight of the engines and fuel, lift of the plane, and turbulence and nothing but some light weight aluminum, sheetmetal, and rivets holding it all together.

i don't think so. everytime I hear about a plane crash, there are hardly any survivors regardless of where you are on the plane.

Ratio wise, yes there are alot more cars than planes so you are much more likely to die in a car crash. I like being in control though.

Front or back really doesn't matter, I don't think, though I didn't run the statistics. If you look up the NTSB reports on various crashes, they usually have a page with a seat map of the plane and where the fatalities were located. This is assuming it was a survivable crash.
 
I have only been in a plane round trip twoce in my life. I do like flying though. It is fun looking out the window and imagining the areas you are flying over. Plus, one day, maybe when I have someone to travel with, I will travel a lot. 🙂

not true at all. As a matter of fact, I'm shocked by the number of people who have survived crashes. For a full-on crash, it's about 30%, for a controlled ditch, it's somewhere around 60%
 
I love the actual flying part but hate airports and all the attendent hassles involved in getting on to a plane.
