Do you like oatmeal?

I'm eating a bowl of it right now, for the first time ever. It's so lumpy, and it looks like somebody ate it first and then spit it back up. Gah. I know it's healthy and good for me though, so is there any way to prepare it to make it look/taste better?

I use the regular old fashioned rolled oats. Some ingredients I like to add include blueberries, bananas, a teaspoon of splenda, ground cinnamon, or a scoop of flavored protein powder (chocolate is good).

Nowadays I just throw a handful into my protein shake and shake it up real nice and down my oats that way.

Oatmeal is awesome, one of the good things about winter that I look forward to every year.

Oh yeah, I like it plain or maybe with a little honey or sugar and cinnamon.

Add some or all of the following:

Maple syrup
Sugar
Brown Sugar
Cinnamon
Butter

My favorite is... Little brown sugar and little sugar and cinnamon and butter...Like 1/2 teaspoon sugar and brown sugar and then cinnamon to taste.. Usually 1/2 teaspoon or more.. Then a teaspoon of butter or to taste.

REAL butter is great in it.. You can get by with country crock or other oil based products...

Most people don't use enough water. I prefer mine loose, much more so than the usual porridge. Just add raisins to thicken it up. No more lumps.

i love oatmeal, get the flavored kind, maple and brown sugar.

or brown sugar and cinnamon..

emmmmm

That's about as good as it gets, as far as oatmel goes.

If it's too lumpy you can try adding a little more water. Hard to get it somewhere between lumpy and watery, though.

yes all of the suggestions so far are pretty good. brown sugar, raisins, bananas, etc..

I like melting some chocolate in my oatmeal or squirting in some chocolate syrup if I don't have time.

Mmmmmmm, that actually sounds pretty good!

I think I made mine too lumpy. It's horrible and thick. 🙁

Yes. And Don't buy the flavored kind get a nice big thing of the Old fashioned stuff

Yep, boil that on the stove, then sprinkly a little bit of cinnamon and brown sugar in it, some people like maple, but I always over do it so I generally stick to brown sugar and cinnamon.

My gf makes homemade applesauce every week in our crock pot and I put a few spoonfuls of that in the oatmeal to flavor it. It's damn tasty.

I eat a bowl of it nearly every day. If you get all of that sugar crap in there, it kind of defeats the purpose of having a healthy meal. Anyhow, I like mine a bit on the dry side and I add in two packets of Splenda.

Splenda makes everything better.
