Small to medium size non-vicious, friendly dogs are nice. Pit bulls, dobermans, etc. are weapons and I'd never have them around my kids. Forget to feed em just one meal, and your kid becomes a Scooby snack!

If that is what he meant then my statement is still not irrational. I didn't say I only hated loud and smelly dogs. I said I hated dogs...period, and I gave a couple of reasons why. Are his dogs exempt from my hatred because they dont smell, (i doubt it, he's probably just grown immune to their stench) and they are quiet? no.

I am more worried about the smaller dogs myself. Seems like most of the mean dogs I have come across have been those yappy rat dogs.

I don't particularly care for animals much at all...if they aren't in the wild or in the zoo I don't see much use for the darned things. I can tolerate a bird or a fish, maybe a small reptile in the home as they are caged and can be controlled. Dogs are intrusive, in the way, and more than anything else irritating to me with their panting, barking, saliva dripping, pooping everywhere.... they are dirty disgusting animals (IMHO) that I can live without. I never said that I can't stand people that like dogs. I have friends who have dogs and they know how I feel about it. I don't try to change their minds or vise versa, I don't visit and they don't bring their animals to my home.

I love my dogs! And most all dogs except ones that don't weigh more than 20 pounds full grown. Like those little rodent dogs. yuck.

Dobermans raised around children are some of the most docile dogs there are. They are great around children they know and put up with ear-pulling, tail-grabbing, and other tortures children love to put dogs through . However, they can be fiercely protective and should be watched around people they don't know in their home. In my personal experience, I have never met a dobe that was raised as a family pet that wasn't incredibly friendly. When raised correctly, they can be friendlier, better behaved, and whole damn lot smarter than labs (which everyone thinks is the ideal family dog for some reason).

And we should actually care ...why? Hey you are entitled to your likes and dislikes. If you don't like dogs that's fine with me..as long as you aren't one of these jokers that are cruel to animals.

Myself I don't like precocious little kids. When I was young I never smart mouthed an Adult. Mostly out of respect but also due much in part to self preservation. Back when I was young you'd get rapped on the side of the head if you taked smack to an adult. Never got my noggin rapped because I had a healthy respect for pain. These days you look at a kid crosseyed and they are yelling child abuse all the while telling you to fsck off!

I love most dogs. Some of those big slobbery ones I try to avoid though. And I absolutly LOVE wolves. They are just sooo cute!

Yea..I like dogs but never had much success with the house training thing..can't stand doggy poo. And the killer dawg thing is strange. Not the dogs..but the dawgs that choose to have a high risk liability, litigation bait, pooper. It's spawned a whole legal industry of lawyers running around looking to sue dog owners over the slightest provocation. Think I'll get a kitty instead..
