once in a blue moon I'll drink it for the taste, especially iced coffee, but it makes me feel like taking a shit right after. Is that normal? I've never found the caffeine in any coffee to give me a jolt of anything. I've also tried 5-hour energy before hockey and I feel nothing different.

Drinking my first cup of the day right now, as matter of fact. I get my beans at a little whole in the wall coffee shop a few blocks away and they're really good. To brew I have one of those awesome Bunn Automatic things kinda like the ones they have at restaurants. Most days I drink it black but sometimes I'll put a splash of milk in there to mix it up a bit.

One of these days I plan to get a grinder and start grinding my own... One of these days... :)

For cheap coffee i like the 8 O'clock. But my favorite is etheopian by far. I usually put hazelnut creamer in and thats it.

No. Though I like the way it smells, I do not like the way it tastes and, in general, I do not like hot drinks.

Luckily, I am not addicted to caffeine, either.

Had a cup in my hand when I clicked this thread :D

I've had an espresso machine (actually several of them) for over a decade, don't even have a drip coffee maker, and when my company gives me one I make iced tea with it.

Soy Latte' with just about any dark oily bean freshly ground is my favorite.

I rarely drink coffee and when I do, I dump a truckload of sugar and creamer in there because black coffee tastes awful to me. At least, the sludge that they serve for free at work does.

A question for the coffee lovers: Did you find that your taste in coffee was acquired over time, or have you always liked it? I hated beer when I first tried it, but I've come to really appreciate it and have turned into a bit of a beer snob. Were you guys the same way with coffee?

Definitely acquired. I only started drinking because the caffeine helped with my migraines. I never was a fan of coffee, except occasionally if it was free, and then with sugar and milk or creamer.

Same thing with tea, which I enjoy about as much as coffee, though in a different way. Green teas, my favorite of the many kinds I drink, is more soothing and relaxing, while coffee is more invigorating because of the caffeine difference. I enjoy coffee in the morning and afternoon, sometimes after drinking tea if I'm off, and tea in the evening, early morning, and midday.

Drinking my morning coffee now, just a autodrip of Green Mountain "Our Blend". It's my standard coffee for home, and I get Dunkin' Donuts or breakfast cart coffee when I'm at school. I've been meaning to work my way to better coffee now that I can tell the difference.

I love coffee.

Espresso is probably my favorite, but French press is very close. Drip isn't bad, just not as good.

I tend to like Medium roast Sumatras the best, I'm not partial to any one specific brand, but I often buy my beans from Cost+ World Market because the prices are quite reasonable and the coffee is quite good.

I drink it black, though this one Mexican restaurant I sometimes go to for lunch puts some cinnamon and sugar in there, and that's quite good too .... but 99% of the time, it's black.

COOOOOFFFFFFEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I used to drink it purely for the caffeine and taste. Then I got pregnant, and realized I missed the taste. So I got some decaf and some half-caf for rough days. Depending on the coffee, I drink it anywhere from black to a latte. I'm not a huge fan of complicated cofffee drinks. I do enjoy espresso, especially Americanos (thanks a lot Sagalore) with hazelnut. Hazelnut is probably my most frequently added flavor. Sometimes I like flavored coffees, depends on my mood.

While it's just me occupying my body, I am a caffeine fiend. When I have a toddler, I'm sure that will resume -- I'll show you who has never-ending energy kid!! ;)

I LOVE COFFEE!

I'm not a "coffee snob" who can only drink coffee made from the rare beans that were eaten by a pig, then gathered by natives after the pig shats them out, and are then roasted at exactly xyz degrees them ground by the tits of young virgin girls, and then, brewed into coffee by the french press method using only carefully filtered water heated to EXACTLY 190 degrees and served in bone china cups made from the bones of the heathens who drink grocery store coffee....

I'm apparently related to the coneheads. I consume mass quantities of coffee...too much to care about the exact genetic history of the plant, or about the individual family who picked the beans, or...fuck all that...gimme coffee...and give it to me NOW!

The "normal daily coffee" in the house is original blend Folgers and I use a Bunn-o-Matic coffee maker. It's the only coffeemaker (brand) we've used for more than 20 years. When I stagger out of bed in the morning, I need my coffee NOW...not in 20 minutes.

When I was working, I usually made 3 pots of coffee for the day, and needed them all done NOW. The Bunn-o-Matic does that for me.

A while back, we picked up some New Guinea beans at Coscto. Nice flavor, dark and oily, have lots of "get up and go" in them, not bitter. (and best of all, the bag had a picture of a pretty blue butterfly on the front!) :p

I love my coffee black. I brew a pot of the cheapest dark roast bean available at the grocery store every day (2 cups). I usually drink one additional cup at work, but I have to doctor it up (cream & sugar) because whatever they brew at work is atrocious (we can't have our own coffee pots due to some silly regulations).

I buy the french roast from Trader Joe's and use it in my Aeropress, and I drink it black. Currently looking into popcorn popper roasting.

I enjoy coffee, I LOVE good coffee. Bad coffee is horrible. Don't think I am a coffee snob but I can tell the difference rather easily of one vs. the other.

I was in Vegas last week and had a "Irish" at the Bellagio. 2/3rds wiskey and 1/3 coffee and Bailys for coloring. If there was any drink that will wake you up, it was that baby. I made a sound so weird after one swig they thought I won the jack pot.

Any coffee but freeze dried or foldgers works for me. I can go for some Hazlenut coffee though I always have to mix the grinds with regular coffee to cut back the oil or nut flavor.

Do you like coffee?
Yes. I like it plain but it tends to give me hunger pangs, so I usually put several sugars and some coffee-mate in it(half&half is preferable if available) that prevents that from happening. I don't drink it but 2-3 days a week though.

my daily drink is Costco Brand ground coffee through a Cuisinart Drip coffee maker

My Weekend or night coffee is Gevalia coffee with a French Press, the taste is super worth the effort, too lazy to do this in the morning before work though.

I have not finished a full coffee in my life. Always couldn't stand the taste of any I have tried.

I will admit the ones I have tried are probably not the good ones.

This. The flavor of coffee is disgusting. I can't even stand it mixed with anything - ice cream, cakes, etc. Gross.

I like it black and strong enough you can chew it.

I learned to drink coffee in my dad's USAF hanger. Brewed in a 5 gallon coffee urn, it also served to remove paint and as replacement for battery acid.

When I got a bit older, I drank Marine Corps squad bay coffee...which is considered a toxic waste product. :D

By comparison, almost ANY coffee is good coffee.

I didn't start drinking coffee until I was probably 25 or so. I enjoy it very much, but I'm not much of a caffeine junkie. If I don't have time to make some in the morning, I'll just pass. The people who drink the vile liquid produced by our "coffee" machine at work every morning just to get their fix baffle me.

Enjoying a thermos of Vienna roast Kenyan right now that i made in my french press at home during my lunch break.

I like the taste of coffee more than its stimulant effect. If I had to pink one, it'd be a double short Illy espresso with a tiny bit of 35% cream.
