Do you like bowling?

I enjoy it, but I've only bowled over 100 twice (once with bumper bowling).

Does anyone know of a good place to bowl in LA? All the places I've checked out have been pretty pricey.

There's a place in Marina Del Rey and one in Santa Monica that I know of. If you want to be trendy you can go to Lucky Strike in Hollywood and Highland.

no, it totally pisses me off. i hate that game.

how can i throw a strike then on the next fricken ball roll a gutter!!! :|

Fu*k bowling, it should be banned.

there is one in santa monica that has 50cent nights on wed. i believe....i can find out the name if you want

there is also one on venice that i have been to twice thats ok, not that cheap though, about 5 blocks west sepulveda on the right side

I recommend going to Gable House on Hawthorne Blvd. & Sepulveda in Torrance. Great facility. Also, the last 3 times I've gone bowling I've headed to Long Beach @ Gameworks....they have new lanes there, very nicely decorated with huge screens and music playing all the time. Bowling is cool....even if I don't bowl over 100 😀 My best game ever has been a 158 wooohooooo!

I go to one in Temple City on Lower Azusa. Its actually pretty cool there. I use to go there with my dad every Sunday after Dim Sum when I was in high school. Now, they remodeled it a little bit and it looks a lot nicer. It even has a speed gun to tell you how fast your bowling ball is going.

I'm in a league so yes, i like it.

Bowling is getting to be pretty pricey most places. I don't know anything about LA though...sorry.

Definitely go to Shatto in ktown!!
I forget the exact price but it's WAY cheaper than any other bowling place in LA plus it's open super late just like everything else in ktown.

I think there's a bowling alley near Valley and New Ave. in the city of Alhambra. But I can't tell you much about it since I've never been inside.

EDIT: As for the game itself, it's ok. I'd rather play minature golf. 😀

I love bowling. It's one of those things I can never practice and still be good at. I usually get over 150, a few times over 200. I never do that fancy spinning thing, I just chuck the ball down the lane with some good ol' fashioned accuracy.

Bowling is the ONLY class I look forward to everyweek. My game has improved so much over the past year. I rolled a 245 two weeks ago, but could have had much higher, but opened in the 10th which I am still kicking myself over. The TA bought beers for anyone that had over a 200, but I am only 20 so I had to pass 😛 I had like an 7 bagger going into the 9th and just choked . I try and bowl about 3 times a week, but I have cut down recently due to college.

Man that place is GHETTO! The lanes aren't even close to being flat and man are they f'd up. Only been there once and that was enough.

Mar Vista Bowl is decent (Venice and Grandview). There's also El Dorado on Lincoln just south of Manchester and the one in Santa Monica is on Pico between 4th and Main across from the Santa Monica Civic Center.

I love handling big, heavy balls.

heh...got ya beat, Marty. Best game for me is a 280 (strike, spare, then strikes the rest of the way.)
