Do you leave your blinds open at night or close them?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to make my morning wakeups more pleasant. On the one hand I could make it completely pitch black up until my alarm goes off, maximizing the amount of "good" sleep I get..or I could ease my way into it with the sun light acting as a pre-alarm clock. What do you guys do?

I close my blinds just because I find it creepy that somebody could see inside. I'd rather leave it open though.

Always blinds close. I like to walk around naked or boxers only and don't want people looking in when I have the lights on. If you lived in the middle of no where with no neighbors then you could that but I can't.

I suggest you leave them open so you can tell what neighbors are peaking at you when you are naked by avoiding all eye contact when you see them again.

Closed. We had a peeping tom in the neighborhood when I was about five and the anxiety it created has stuck with me. They are wide open during the day, but as soon as its dark enough I can't see who's out there they get closed.

Wide open! Have a large port hole in the bath. I love full moons. Turned out the lights and got in the tub with the moonlight beaming through the window. It's great. :)

Closed but just to keep the sun out in the morning. All that can see in is Llamas and Sheep

Blinds are closed and I put these black-out curtains over my window and use thumb pins/tack-things to seal it up against the wall so light doesn't even come in. It's not 100% because there is some light that still gets in, but I may fix this eventually.

I sleep better in the dark.

Not to hijack this thread, and you can PM me with the info if you want... but where do you get those "black-out curtains" ? I work graves (which is why my posts are always during these hours) so my prime sleeping hours are during bright daylight ... and can never get the room dark.. not even with "room-darkener" shades.

No clue, my mom got them for me. Unfortunately, mine were a bit short.. If they were just like 6 inches longer then they would have probably covered the window really nicely. I might just have the edges of them un-hemmed or whatever. Anyway, no clue. Maybe wal-mart?

They're cheap and supposedly supposed to keep the warmth inside or outside the house, I can't remember... Supposed to save energy... blah-blah... Don't care. They keep my room pretty dark when it's super bright out. :awe: I wake up thinking, "Mmm... the sun must be barely rising right now.. so lovely.. nostalgic memories... ahhh... what time is it? :awe: 2PM!? WTF D:"

Oh and the only reason the light gets in is because the hanger/thing-that-holds-the-curtains has a space between the window and the wall so the light comes in through the top. I can't really fix that. :(

Just took this to show you what it looks like.

I have to use thumb tacks and shit to secure it down at night so it doesn't let any light in in the middle of the thing because the curtains don't overlap close enough on their own. I have to use tacks to hold them down really tight and shit together so light doesn't get through.

Try looking for theater style curtains. My friend got a bunch at Walmart as I recall

Closed right now, but only because my place is located on the bottom floor which happens to also be located right near beach access. My last place was top floor so I always kept my bedroom window open. It was just so much more refreshing to wake up to the sunlight every morning.

I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond.
