Yep. He's the former manager of a really, really big band I know you've all heard of. He's an in-law of mine, so I know him quite well. He tends to devote most of his time/money to non-profit work now that he is semi-retired from the biz....very down-to-earth guy considering he's worth a freaking mint.

I know a banker and philanthrapist through a friend worth probably half a billion
I am friends with a family that were auctioneers and sold one company to ebay ~200 mil
I know a family from when I was a kid who owned a lot of texas instruments and i heard that they are worth over a billion
I hung out with a kid this summer who's father founded chevy's and they are loaded

being from the bay area I have met lots of rich ass people but I am not nearly one of them myself.

My dad's semi-uber rich I guess. I don't know what his worth is (he refuses to tell me), but it's probably somewhere between 10-50 million. My uncle (his brother) is probably around there as well.
