Do you jog before you head to work/start your day?

I heard it is actually beneficial to jog before you start your day. Not sure how valid that is, but I am planning to do that soon.

Though do I jog before I eat breakfast or after? 0.0

no... but I do walk a mile if that counts (unless I oversleep or the weather is really bad -- eg: heat wave or blizzard). don't want to arrive to work all sweaty and gross, though.

For a while i was waking up at 4am every two days and running about 3.5 miles. I was actually having a better run compared to doing it after work.

I bike to work. Only 2.25 miles one way. Once or twice a week I stop by the grocery store/post office which bumps my daily mileage to 5 to 9 miles on those days. In general it helps to wake me up in the morning, puts me in a good mood, and helps me stay in shape. It took a lot of time to make it a routine. I've been doing it for almost two and a half years, and it took me close to two years before I actually started looking towards the bike ride in the morning. Before that I often had to make myself do it. I knew that it was good for my health, and I knew I would feel good afterwards, but my mind would still try and play tricks to try and take the car instead of bike. Crazy how mind works, and crazy how long it took to break the "I'm not looking forward to this bike ride even though I really am" mindset.

I'd say my total walk to and from work is 1/2 or so. Otherwise, I go to the gym 3 days a week during lunch.

I feel better after I'm done and I "think" it helps my day but you have to have some serious motivation to do it. Winter time sucks even worse if you aren't doing it at home.

I don't jog but only because I am lazy. When I did, I felt incredibly energetic the whole day so if you can, definitely go jogging before breakfast.

Only time I really feel like I can go for a run is before work. I try to get up around 5 - 5:30 to get in 3 miles more or less. But now the heatwave has come and I don't do heat.

I have about a 15 minute hike to my office from my parking deck. There's about 15 flights worth of stairs going down/up/down to get to my office. Gets the blood moving as I walk fairly brisk.

Not the same as a true workout though.

Yea I was thinking of whether to eat breakfast first or jog first. It sucks because it takes a while to digest.

I'd think you'll want to run first, then eat. My problem is that I can't be sweaty when I get to work, I just cant deal with that...a mental thing I suppose. So I can't just jog to work or ride my bike there. I'd need to jog, come back home and shower, then head out. Its a hassle, but I'd like to do it more often.
