No.
I have electronic keypad deadbolt.

They are only like $100. Looking back, it has been a great purchase.
Never have to worry about keys. Lock the door with a simple press.
Batteries (4xAA) last well over a year and gives a low battery indicator.
Been here 3 years and only changed batteries once. Use it daily.

I live in an apartment, but a couple of select friends have a spare key.

Back of house is usually unlocked. Combo lock on fence. Worst case, I'd prolly smash a window on the garage door.

Yep. Buried underneath about 1 foot of soil in the back yard in a waterproof container. Garage opens with passcode to get the shovel.

I have a spare house key and car key wrapped up in electrical tape and zip tied to the e-brake cable underneath the car. Been there for a couple years. Luckily I've never had to use it.

Years ago, I locked myself out of the car at the supermarket, keys were in the ignition. I had to walk over to big lots and buy a pack of coat hangers and pliers to break into my own car. Talk about pathetic.

They should bump just fine :O

Of course, there's also other key models, where the notches are in the horizontal plane of the key. Haven't seen those getting bumped yet - but haven't looked either.

I don't even know if we HAVE keys for our doors. I did replace the front doorknob at one point; the old one was sticking. So, I probably have keys around the house somewhere for it. Does that count?

If I decided to pretend "the door is locked and I can't get in," I'd just crawl through the dog door. The dog door is huge, it'd be easy to crawl through. I just hope that some burglar doesn't decide to attempt to crawl through or enter our house in some other way when we're not home. Because while the dog door would be easy to crawl through for a person, two of the dogs just barely fit, and they really don't like strangers who are unaccompanied by us. I'd hate to have to clean up the mess.

Locks on my house are all electronic, no keys. Just punch in a code and turn the knob.

I always wanted to do this. What make and model do you use?

As for us, we do not have a hidden key. We have lots of family nearby, and they all have keys.

Our garage can be accessed by removing a small panel and touching two wires together. It is not obvious at all and it will not get you into the house.

Have one hidden away from the door...

Also have a spare truck key hidden on my pickup... just a valet key, it won't start the truck.

Luck favors the prepared...

Not a key, but our garage is connected to our house, and we have a keypad to open the garage door.

I want one of those electronic locks. i think it would be great with the kids.

And one more benefit: my teenaged kid could give the PIN to their friends to post on Facebook.
