Do you have Lactose Intolerance?

I have it and i'm told there is nothing that can be done.

One Table Spoon of milk is enough to ruin my entire day.
Lactaid products and enzyme pills do not help.

How about you?

Edit: I was never like this until around my 20's.

Update: 10-11-2005
I need help.
I'm trying to control my lactose intake so i dont get sick.
Over the past two weeks i been eating Instant Oatmeal and its making me sick.
I don't recognize anything in the ingredients that could have lactose, but yet it makes me sick. Oh and when i make it i use water, not milk.

INGREDIENTS: : WHOLE GRAIN ROLLED OATS (WITH OAT BRAN), SUGAR, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, SALT, CALCIUM CARBONATE, GUAR GUM, CARAMEL COLOR, NIACINAMIDE*, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, REDUCED IRON, PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE*, RIBOFLAVIN*, THIAMIN MONONITRATE*, FOLIC ACID*.

*ONE OF THE B VITAMINS

I for one have no problems. I could eat dairy all day. i should think it would be better to be born with it than to develop it and miss the ice cream you could eat before

until i was like 9, i thought it was Lack Toast an' Tolerant. thought it was a new acronym like lol, or wtf. LTT! LOL!

I still eat tons of dairy stuff. Just means I pass gas a whole bunch. It's bearable, more audible than stench-worthy.

fyi, lactose intolerance is actually the normal genetic trait.

only through a mutation are others able to digest lactose beyond the childhood weaning period.

i thought the same thing ROFL ahahahahahhahaha

I can't drink milk. I dunno why, haven't had it checked out. Only started this past couple years (in my early 20s) I'm fine with butter, yogurt, chesse, cream cheese, sour cream, etc. But milk "ruins my day."

i'm asian... i think it comes with the eyes

i'm only slightly intolerant though.. i can drink maybe half a glass without me having to run to the bathroom

i have a mild case. i found out that certain types of "rich" ice creams will do me in as well as whole milk.
yougart and cheese is ok. as is skim and 1/2%.
its too bad too because i love dairy.

I am, have been since I was very little. Lactaid pills used to do the trick, but they stopped working recently. I switched over to the Trader Joe's Lactase w/ Rennin pills, and I can have a fair amount of dairy without trouble.

I can't drink milk, including that lactaid stuff. I can't do cream cheese, no cheddar cheese.
I can handle American Cheese, i'm not so sure about swiss and mozz but i know one of them is ok.

Edit: but my case is extreme, it can bother me for a day or two sometimes... again my doc all he tells me is to stay away from those products and you try your best but sometimes certain foods just include dairy...

I just became lactose intolerant about 6 months ago. One day I was drinking milk and eating cookies and I was fine and happy. The next day I had the same milk, same cookies, and spent the rest of the day puking my brains out. Haven't been able to drink milk since. Lactose free milk is OK, and doesn't taste bad, but I'm bummed at how expensive it is.
