Do you have a brand loyalty when it comes to big ticket durable good?

I think I have developed one. When it came to buying my last couple of cars, they were both Toyota; Appliances, washer dryer and refrigerator were LG and TV was Sony. No matter how hard I tried, I kept coming back to those brands. Maybe I am getting old... Do you have one?

All the cars I have ever bought are Honda/Acura. I prefer Samsung/LG for most of my appliances and electronics.

Nope, I've owned 4 cars in my life and they have all been from different manufacturers. Never had the same type of appliance.

Now my GF on the other hand.........

I had a Philips CRT TV last eighteen years, so when I went HD I chose Phillips. So far so food.

Toyota for cars definitely. My current Toy is twenty-three years old and running like a champ with working AC!

Not for me, although my current 2 cars are Ford.
Was partial to GM products for years since I was able to get the employee discount.

I have certain brands I WON'T buy. Like I avoid LG stuff if possible (that is the only reason I don't have a Nexus 5). And I won't buy another Honda vehicle.

She's durable alright. Your "brand loyalty" may be misplaced though. :sneaky:

I'll probably get another Ford. They don't make Saturns anymore.

Totally depends

1. Suits & Dress Shoes - YES. I don't want my clothes falling apart, turning into scraps over a couple years. I want to be able to open my closet 10 years later and still have both.

2. Cars - Do you consider sticking with japanese loyalty? Honda (Acura) / Toyota (Lexus). I don't want to buy a new car every 5 years, nor have to service it every 4 months.

3. TV? Mostly Samsung, but I'm open. Whichever impresses me. Phones I have zero loyalty other than not Apple.

4. Alcohol? Nope. I'm pretty open to trying new things. I love different craft beers

5. Stores? Anything but Walmart

There are definitely brands I won't buy, like honda or toyota cus they're slow cumbersome and the most boring cars you'll ever drive. Anything else comes down to quality or functionality.

I feel like a lot of companies make good products, but anything with moving parts is going to have problems of some sort. What makes the REAL difference is how well these companies support their products and service their customers.

My best example is the Digital Elph cameras I bought from Canon back in 2000-2005....I owned 2 of them. One had an issue with the LCD streaking....the other camera had an issue with the zoom lens not working properly (mechanical part). Both were out of the 1 year warranty period of whatever, but Canon didn't care. They just had me ship them back in a box and I received a replacement a few weeks later.

My parents had a camcorder that had been broken for a year...I told them to call their service line. Canon fixed that for them...no questions asked.

I have very little brand loyalty. Perhaps, the iPhone, but that is not entirely true. Every Android phone I've used just wasn't as good as my iPhone. I'd happily take another phone if it was actually better.

I generally just buy whatever is the best value for the features I require.

not big ticket by any means, but i'm quite passionate about my intellimouse optical. i can use it in either hand with absolute precision. been in use for a good 15 years and nothing else feels quite right, like when i'm at someone else's desk or computer.

both of mine, at home and work, have a nice antiqued yellow hue to them; not like the shiny one below

I develop brand preferences that may sway my decision one way or another, but things can change so rapidly depending on each certain model.

Caveat, a history of great customer service sways me a lot more than just a history of product satisfaction.

For cars I've owned Hondas (the first two were kind of hand-me-downs from grandpas, haha) but I would also buy Toyota.

Electronics, I like LG and Samsung.

For video cards I insist on nVidia. Or AMD.
