Even today its not uncommon, I personally know a few people who do not use AC, they drive nice cars, but never use AC.

Well, that just seems dumb. I never had the pleasure of an AC because we was poor. I'd have turned that sucker on in a heartbeat if we had it though. Gas mileage be damned!

I would buy Tim cook's shit if it came with white headphones and was shipped direct from china via 3 day air.

No, I have pocket book loyalty. I do have brand preferences, but if I can get the same quality and performance / reliability with another brand for a killer deal, I always go that way.

Absolutely... It's more about not effing with success than loyalty. Both my LCD TVs are Samsung, both have lasted over 5 years, so I'll very likely replace them with Samsungs. My monitor is a Dell, pushing 7 years now? Going back for more.

So what happens to the AC? it stops too? that would be a deal breaker in TX heat...

No, the AC and all the electronics and stuff keep running. It's just the engine that shuts off. It'd basically be like the key is in the accessory position on older cars -- your radio, ac, and wipers stay on, but the engine itself doesn't.

If his list was cars; appliances; TVs, then no, he didn't. He just left off the Oxford semicolon. Is that a thing?

Phones: First phone was a Nokia then moved on to Motorola RAZR, Blackberry, iPhone, but last 2 phones were Samsung... not really brand loyalty here.

Cars: Hyundai, Toyota, and now Infiniti... nope.

Appliances: When I redid my kitchen I got a Viking appliance package, Washer / Dryer are LG... nope.

TV's: All four TV's in the house are Samsung... maybe yes here.

Other electronics: I have iPad, macbook, surface pro 3, HP Stream tablet...

I would say no to brand loyalty for the most part.

Samsung, toyota, Sony, Magnavox/Philips

Had Honda, worse car EVER EVER I TELL YOU! I dont buy apple anything, I have apple products, I just never bought them. I used to love Asus, but since I got burned with the POS t101 and memo pad HD (what a fucking joke that was) and other various Asus products, I hate them now. As for washer and dryer products, ive always had maytag.

When the key is in the accessory position, your AC isn't "working" I mean, the fan is on, but nothing is spinning the compressor. It would be ineffective against Texas heat.

not big ticket by any means, but i'm quite passionate about my intellimouse optical. i can use it in either hand with absolute precision. been in use for a good 15 years and nothing else feels quite right, like when i'm at someone else's desk or computer.

both of mine, at home and work, have a nice antiqued yellow hue to them; not like the shiny one below

I'm using the same mouse right now and it's probably the same age as yours but mine is more like a dirty dingy yellow.. lol. I surprised it has worked so well for this long.

I am loyal to a brand when it rewards me with long life and quality. I have had great experiences with Panasonic electronics and Yamaha (motorcycles and electronics).
I have a Panasonic stereo radio that is over 40 years old, and still works fine.
Also, Toyota makes a very reliable automobile.

I always thought Panasonic was under appreciated. Their stuff isn't always the best feature-wise, but it's well made, and lasts a long time.

My thoughts exactly, I don't think a typical car battery can power the AC for too long, specially in stop and go traffic. I have Camry Hybrid and when the engine cuts off, the compressor still runs but not as effectively. It's like AC running when the engine is idle. If the compressor is not running then the temperature can rise very quickly.

Yamaha (AVR) might have earned my brand loyalty too. I have used Sony, Onkyo and Denon and I am pretty sure my next purchase will be Yamaha. They just "feel" much better than the others.

'antiqued' was just my best attempt at a euphemism. this is my actual one at work, which is probably close to what you have

Panasonic? I used to prefer National. ;)

Very little. I'm very particular about what I buy, once I've decided the exact combination of features/build/whatever I will buy what meets that with very little consideration of brand, appearance, and largely price (within reason of course, but I care far more about getting exactly what I want than price). I currently have four cars from four different manufacturers, my electronics spread a wide range, etc.

The one area I will admit to being brand loyal is PC parts. I haven't had an AMD product since the days of my dual socket Athlon system. Intel and NVIDIA have been the foundation of every machine of mine for well over a decade.

Honda. I have 2 now and only things I've ever had to do was change batteries, oil and tires.

I think I have developed one. When it came to buying my last couple of cars, they were both Toyota; Appliances, washer dryer and refrigerator were LG and TV was Sony. No matter how hard I tried, I kept coming back to those brands. Maybe I am getting old... Do you have one?

Lol, wow LG. Former Goldstar. I remember when Goldstar was utter crap purchased at Kmarts for cheap.

No! Brand loyalty is dumb. But I will say that I might have preferences, and it may sway where my research begins if I'm looking to make a purchase. Any brand can make good or bad things, so buying blindly based on nothing more than brand loyalty would be a stupid thing to do.
