Do you hate vegetables?

Never used to but love just about all of 'em now. I think most people learn to hate vegetables early on in life, or at least learn to crave salt/fat/grease at a young age. That conditioning is hard to shake. If parents feed hamburgers to their 8 year olds, guess what? They learn to love hamburgers.

The trick is properly preparing veggies.

Diets come and go as do experts but every single one of them agrees Americans do not eat as many veggies as they should. That ought to us something.
 
How can you live without veggies? You don't even eat potatoes? :Q

<-- makes the best tomato/cucumber/mayo/parsley flake appetizer salad, great before a big boul of soup.

Mine, in order of preference:

fresh cucumbers/tomatoes (I hate pickles though)
baby carrots (great w/ranch)
corn/canned peas
pretty much any other veggies cooked (green beans, brocolli, etc) when part of a bigger meal

don't like lettuce too much, though it's fine if the rest of the salad has more substance
edit: oh and onions, not a big fan
 
When I was a kid I didn't much care for them but these days I don't mind them. A good salad with bacos and Kraft caesar italian light. Mmmmm!
Broccoli and potatoes in cheddar is divine! Cooked spinach is good. I don't really care for it in my pasta though.
 
Potatoes aren't vegetables 🙂 I eat fruits. And there are some expections like Spring Rolls. But besides that, no veggies for me 🙂
 
Oh man, I hate most vegetables!

Peas, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, onions, broccoli, mushrooms, I hate almost EVERYTHING
lettuce tastes like dirt! and salad dressing makes me....squirm

I do like corn and potatoes though
I like pickles, but... they just dont belong on hamburgers, so I always have them put pickles on my hamburgers by I end up taking them off 😛



 
they do protect against certain cancers, especially colorectal. Also, the fiber is important (if you aren't getting it elsewhere), and as they are lower in caloric density you can eat mroe without bulging 🙂

I actually LOVE vegetables, though, so I am biased 😀
 
Oh, and I love pickels for some reason. Explain that one to me!
You crave the salt used in the pickling process. In just two or three full-sized pickles you reach your daily maximum recommended allowance of sodium (appx. 2400 mg).
 
I usually eat one or two spears, or a couple little sweet jerkins. They're like 5 calories a piece. Better snack than potato chips 🙂

I do eat a fair amount of meat (generally chicken and fish with the odd new york strip now and then), but I'll typically have one or two veggie sides with dinner.

I'll tolerate lima beens but otherwise I do eat them all.

definitely, and a lot healthier, too. unfortunately, as good as americans are at cooking meat, we are about equally as bad at preparing vegetables. go to some good indian or asian restaurants and get vegetable dishes there, or look up some recipies. the key is seasoning, and vegetables can be a lot more tolerable when they're seasoned properly.
 
ehhh not really, any sort of bean... i guess would be the only thing...

chicken ceaser salads are where it's at 😀
 
I used to detest veggies and even had trouble eating a normal salad unless it was drenched in dressing and croutons. For me it was all in the preparation and cooking, because I can actually stomach the veggies that my girlfriend makes - and they're even quite good sometimes. 😛 Guess it was just the way my mom used to make veggies that turned me off. Plain salads though still require a decent helping of thousand island and croutons (bacon bits don't hurt either) before I can manage to get through them, but it's definitely not as bad as it was before. 🙂
