Do you give out your social security #?

I always put mine on there, I can't imagine not.

If I recall - and correct me if I'm wrong - that credit companies did not require your social security number until the Patriot Act.

Since then, it is now a mandatory part of all credit applications (as well as multiple other documents).

Regardless, it's good to be cautious with it, as anyone with it and some basic information about you can do a bit of damage on your identity.
