Do you get sick leave where you work?

Wondering who else on ATOT doesn't get any sick time where they work.

I do however get vacation time.

8 hours a month and it does accumulate as long as I'm there

My time off is rolled into something called CTO- Combined time off. It's vacation, sick time, personal time etc all rolled into one. We get a max of 200 hours. Works out to like 1.5 months off. However it continually builds until it reaches the max...then you can sell it back for money(at like 75% so if you sell back 12 hours of time off, you get 9 hours worth moneywise) in case you don't want to use vacation time. And it does roll over, year from year. Pretty nice.

I work for a small company, there is no offical sick pay, but I still get paid if I am sick for a little while.

I used to work piece work, so I only made money when I was building jobs, great money at that, but no vacation or sick pay.

That is technically what I have as well.

I opted for CTO of 3.6 weeks of a year in lieu of 2.4 weeks of vacation and 2.4 weeks of sick time.

I unofficially get 3 weeks of vacation plus 2 personal days and 5 sick days per year.

Though it's hard to take any time off since I'm the only guy managing a VMWare cluster, 12 physical servers, and a slew of applications.

I get 12 days to use however I see fit. If I want 12 days of vacation or if I get SARS, I get 12 days.

It's all PTO. Use it for vacation, use it for dysentery, whatever you need to do.

No all just PTO.

But then I don't get sick anyway. At least not enough to not go to work. Might get a little 24 hour thing here or there, but that's about it.

Nope, all PTO. 25 days, though. It's nice because I don't have kids and am relatively healthy.

My last job was 2 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick. I like the PTO arrangement better.

48 hours of sick time a year? I would of been long fired after having a 3 week flu back in March.

I get 15 paid holidays, 96 hrs vacation, and 96 hrs sick leave per year.

3 weeks vacation, 5 sick days (none of which carries from year to year).

no one really keeps track of sick days, though, as long as you don't abuse it (ie: using sick days to add onto vacations, going way past your limit, etc).

I was out of commission for 2 weeks a couple years ago, with no vacation days left, and no one gave me a hard time about it.

I get unlimited sick leave (though obviously if abused HR will step in, and there are some rules, but I can take a day/afternoon off if I feel bad basically whenever). The only catch to the unlimited sick leave is a prolonged single leave requires certain information from your doctor and may be turned into a "leave of absence" which has a different pay scale.

On top of that, I get 10 days vacation + 1 personal holiday. The personal holiday is just a vacation day that has hours which must be used in the calendar year and don't rollover, normal vacation can be stacked up to 240 hrs before you have to use it. After you have been with the company a while your alloted days per year goes up, limiting at 20 days a year after 20 years.

I work for a Division of Emerson Electric Company btw, and seeing as there are 142K employees under that umbrella, I assume that other Emerson companies have different policies. Also we have 2 classes of employees, Exempt and Non-Exempt (Hourly). Hourly people have limited sick leave, but can earn overtime, Exempt have unlimited sick leave, but earn no overtime. Though I don't mind being exempt as I have never had to work overtime since I started, and everyone I talk to says they almost never do, and when they do they can usually just take off early the next week if they finished their work.
