Do you get abnormally carded when going to a bar?

Okay...tonight I went to a bar in Peoria, IL. They were carding everyone at the door. I showed them my I.D., then I was in there drinking for about 2 hours, getting served with no problem. Then, the bartender who had been serving me all night asked to see my I.D.!! What is the deal with that? I look really young for my age, but I'm not Solid Snake or anything, I didn't sneak in there. They carded me at the door for God's sake, why card me after I've had 4 or 6 Captain's and Cokes?

I rarely get carded when going into any of the campus bars. I know most of the bouncers by name. (Yes, I am an alcoholic). However, one night at Jake's Roadhouse on campus I got carded by a power trip new bouncer as I walked out of the bathroom.

I didn't get carded in my college bars, because they knew me, but they pretty much card everyone who isn't clearly in their 30's everywhere else.

I'm the exception, though, because I look way younger than 23 (my age). I just automatically show my I.D. for anything, though.

if he boots you though before the liquor board comes in...then he doesn't have to worry about a fine.

Heh... I've had that happen... carded at the door and then carded again after I get to the bar (by bartender) then same bartender cards me again later into the night. And we've been tipping him/her?? WTF? I showed them ID then proceeded to head to another drinking establishment.

I don't mind being carded, since I'm used to it. I have never been denied entry or alcohol after showing my I.D. Riverboat Casinos are the worst...one time I had to sign a piece of paper and they compared it to the signature on my liscence.

The weird thing about me... before I turned 21 I got carded (and kicked out of) everywhere. As soon as I hit 21 I haven't been carded except for once every few months or so.

Sometimes I'll go to a bar and just automatically show the bartender my I.D., give them a generous tip and say I don't want to be bothered. I CANNOT stand being carded time after time in the same place. I'm a customer just like everyone else...don't I deserve respect?

do you know how many people bartenders see in a night? It isn't about respect. it is about making sure he isn't going to have to pay a large fine.

I get carded everywhere I go. Even when I go to Costco to try the free samples the ladies there give me a hard time since kids under 18 are not allowed to try food without their parents).

I'm 18, and I had been to quite a few bars and a few liquor stores before I finally got carded. it was at a liquor store and the guy was like, you're not 21, so i left and went to a different liquor store.

One of the reasons that I shave my head is that I've never been carded with my head shaved. Saves me the trouble of me getting out my driver's license and them scratching at it to see if it's real

I'm 21 and they still card me when I go to see R Rated movies, everyone says I look 16. I'd hate to see what would happen if I tried going into a bar.

I am 23. I have gone to both liquer stores and bars when underage, and I never got carded back then (though I let my beard grow really long when I was like 16 though .. so people couldn't really tell my age)

i got carded SO many times when I was at the casino in niagara falls.

They carded me at the door getting in. Every time before I sat down at a table they carded me. They carded me as I left the restaurant (there is another door in from the outside). They even carded me as I was leaving....(just kidding)
