not fucking awsome on your wallet however

depends on where you go.

there's 1 spot I go to, very good, me and the wifey walk out for 120 total.

We went to a different place one time...one of the best in LA...260 for both of us. Ouchies.

Omakase or bust.

Yea, it depends on where you go. Sometimes for lunch, we'll go to this decent sushi buffet for $12 per person. And maybe once a month, we'll go to this award winning sushi place here. We usually go with another couple, and the bill comes to around $120-$140.

you're missing out on the sushi angel :)

I'm sure it tastes great and isn't unhealthy at all, it's just a psychological barrier that I can't pull myself across. lol.

I initially thought it would be horrible. I mean, all you can eat sushi, how good can it be? But for $12, it's really not bad at all. It beats typical fast food or a frozen tv dinner. The place is in an asian neighborhood, with asian stores, and asian grocery stores. It's not your typical american california rolls and spicy tuna rolls. They made some tasty exotic rolls.

I don't believe raw fish to be capable of this.... spicy foods however, are another story.
I get a high from eating spicy foods... and I've read that capsaicin can create a natural high, just like exercise... release endorphins or something :p

I'm not as much of a sushi snob as Ns1 but $12 all you can eat sushi...and by "asian" you probably mean chinese. Never go to chinese owned sushi place.

There's an upscale $20 all-you-can-eat sushi buffet around Boston. They're nice and all, but the bad part is that their rolls have bigger rice portions, forcing you to get full on carb. One time we collected all the rice and threw it out in the bathroom. ROFL.

With $20, you can get a nice sushi dinner at another place. It'll also get you full and has plenty of meat instead of rice.

Obviously the latter is much better.

Nah. My goto spot on the westside is Sushi Masu on Westwood next to the 3 day blinds. Very reasonable, the guy is VERY good, esp. if you don't order rolls. I swear I feel like he's blown away everytime me and the wifey go in there and order Omakase haha.

Sushi gen is good if I feel like blowing the bank. There's a few other spots on the westside I want to try.....but I'm just gonna save up for Urasawa instead. Rather eat at Urasawa once vs Sushi Masu 6 times or Sushi Gen 3 times....

re: krunchykrome

I mean sushi at a buffet, are you fucking kidding me? lol. Not even going into the quality of the fish or the ingredients, sushi is all about freshness. It should go from the itamae's hands, onto your plate, into your mouth, in under 2 minutes. hell 30 seconds is preferable.

After you factor in quality of rice, quality of vinegar, and quality of fish, eating sushi at a buffet = WTF
