Either that or they fall off into the Pacific.

Delaware
Nebraska (unless it's college football season)
Iowa (I remember Idaho, just not Iowa)
New Mexico

Ironically, I probably live in a state that people tend to forget about.

I intentionally ignore the fact that California, Nevada, Oregon & Washington exists all the time. Sometimes Massachusettes too.

Seceded...though I'll agree it would be a success for the union. :)

Montana, the Dakotas, stuff like nebraska, wyoming. Ironically I know a few people that live in those states but I havent heard from them in years, which is why I'm putting this as my response.

No, it's not like someone mentions a state they're from and I have to ask if that's in the United States.

I live in Delaware (though not from here). The state motto should be "It's not as bad as you think". I'm not gonna sit here and defend it but the job market is pretty good. Tons of businesses are incorporated here because we tax less than others, the net benefit being that everyone incorporates here (ever look at where you mail your credit card payments? This is the credit card capital.) and we get tons of tax money therefore we have no sales tax. Social scene is kinda meh these days...few good clubs have closed down. From where I live I can be in PA, MD, or NJ in 20 minutes or less. I can be in Philly in 35-45 minutes, I can be in Baltimore in just over an hour and NYC in like 2-2.5.

Oh and for those bitching about the tolls, we put those there for the people from out of state who are too stupid to figure out you can get off the exit before and get back on the exit after. If you want some serious tolls try driving in MD between DE and Baltimore..

Tennessee. I also noticed that nobody else mentioned it... is that because you all forgot about it as well?

IF ($state <> "NY" OR "TX" OR "CA" OR "FL") { echo "No such state";}

(anglicised "OR" statement)

I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missoura.

Most of the southern states. Unless they get nailed by a hurricane or tornado or something.

"That thar wind sounded like a freight train <SPIT>". I wonder how camera crews consistently find the same wife-beater wearing three toothed hillbillies to lament the loss of their double wide and collection of Dale Earnhardt memorobilia?

Not to surprising to see my tiny state in some people's lists. We're the second least populous state next to wyoming...a state that is also in a lot of people's lists.

I'm always quite bemused when my states semi-retarded lawmakers pass some legislation and say things like "The rest of the country is looking to us as an example!"

The fact is, in the rest of the country, half of the people are saying "Who cares what Vermont does?" and the other half are wondering aloud whether Vermont is a Canadian province they've forgotten about. :p

Reminds of a story from the 96 Olympics. Early ticket sales were only for US residents, so when New Mexico residents tried to order tickets they were denied for not being within the US. The USOC actually had to issue a press release stating that they were aware New Mexico was part of the United States. :D

Gases. They're not much different from liquids - both are analyzed through fluid flow.

Bose-Einstein Condensate - there's a fun one that I always remember.

I'll throw out South Dakota. What do they do, again?

yeah, seceded. hehe.

I don't think losing our largest economy would help very much...But I do hope that Texas takes this approach. Or the powers that be come to their senses and just gives them back to Mexico....the world, in general, would be much better off if Texas would stop influencing our politics :D

They're one of the few "North/South" states, which is why I remember them.
