Do you enjoy being disliked?

I think that some go out of their way to be confrontational. Whether it is a deliberate attempt to pull someone's chain and do it in fun, or are just total di*k heads... you can see the same ppl over and over joining a discussion and launching verbal personal attacks on ppl they disagree with.

It's sad really.

I tell everyone I know from the onset that I am not a nice person, do not try to be a nice person and that I am to be taken as I am. I don't go out of my way to bother ppl but I don't take any sh*t. Ppl always know where they stand with me, and if ppl don't like me, then they do a great job of faking it cause most of them would do anything for me.

as long as i don't get banned, i don't care too much. i don't really think anyone recognizes me anyway. but i don't try to tick people off, either.

How does one know how well they're liked on the internet, besides the worst offenders.
I have no idea how I am perceived, or more likely that I'm even noticed, But also since there is the anonymity of the
intarweb I don't care and might tend be more rude than I am in real life.

In addition some people get a real thrill out of getting someone all worked up into a real lather, Its passive aggressive behavior, IMO

Passive aggressive is just that, passive. Most of the people who get others worked up are just plain aggressive.

Passive aggressive: "That dress looks nice on you. It'd look even better if you'd lose ten pounds though."

Aggressive: "You're fat."

On AT we see a lot more of the second than the first.

but i do know that i respond without really thinking about how the other person would feel. i also don't post with the intention of hurting anyone or with the intention of making things personal. well, usually not. but i probably don't take the time to differentiate between attacking what's POSTED vs attacking the POSTER. not the same thing. i usually attack the POST but not the poster.

i probably should take the time to make that clear, but as others have said, i just don't care enough to.

It's quite possible not to fit in and to be liked as well. It's only been recently that people have gotten the crazy idea that you have to hate everyone/be hated by everyone if you don't fit in.

In that I believe that any action represent's in miniature the entirety of our self, I make a concerted effort to act no differently on-line or off.

IRL people seem to have hot or cold reactions to me. Some people like me a great deal, many don't like me at all. Personally I do not allow what I believe to be a person's perception of me is to affect my behavior. I try and act correctly, that is all.
