Do you drink regularly?

I regularly have wine with dinner, have some beer here and there - a good Kriek is my favorite, none of that shitty pisswater most people drink.

I never get drunk.

I've never understood this "Buzz" thing, In the UK if you are slightly drunk or before drunk you are tipsy.

I would consider a buzz the euphoric feeling after 1 - 1.5 beers (though I understand not everyone gets that feeling). Tipsy for me would be around 3-4 beer, and I would start feeling drunk at 4-5 (estimating a beer ever 45 minutes to an hour).

I have been drinking 2-3 beers a day during the week, and more on the weekend. I am working on cutting out drinking during the week though. It's too expensive, and bad on the liver. Plus it makes my evenings totally non-productive.

My drink of choice is beer. I don't do hard liquor any more; I find it just makes me cranky. I will have a glass of wine every once and a while.

This raises another question, what, in American, is "hard liquor"? All spirits or just some or...?

Hard liquor:

Vodka
Rum
Whiskey
Scotch
Tequila
Etc...

Basically all the stuff that isn't beer, wine, coolers, or premixed drinks.

Edit: I'm Canadian btw.

Sharing a bottle of wine with my wife results in us being borderline drunk now a days.
We have a beer or glass of wine a few nights a week.

We get drunk on special occasions, like weddings, football tailgates, birthdays, some holidays, etc.

I get drunk way too often lately. I usually finish off about 20 beers each Friday and Saturday. I usually stay up playing video games until 5am too. I really need to get rid of the kegerator, I've proved I'm not responsible enough to have one.

I've been a pretty much getting drunk 1/week since I was in my teens, my liver must be shot.

The term hard liquor is used to distinguish distilled beverages from undistilled ones.

This discussion made me think of this:

Look, we serve hard liquor for men who want to get drunk fast and we don't need any characters around to give the joint atmosphere. Get me, or do I need to slip you my left for a convicer?

Buddy of mine used to drink 4x a week to the point of black out until he got a DUI. He'll be able to drink again, I think, around the end of July. I'm guessing he's going to live to be about 40 or 45.

No. I can't hold my liquor well. To prove my point, two weekends ago we went out to eat, I had one glass of pinot grigio and by then end of the dinner I was woozy. Also, I'm not one for hard liquor. Maybe I'll have the occasional beer, but I really prefer wine now over anything else.

It means 'Spirits'.

And to answer the original question: I drink often (3~4 times a week), but almost never to excess.

Usually whisky. Sometimes wine. Beer makes me gassy and bloated.

I haven't been more than buzzed in over a year. I regularly hit the bar with work buddies every other week or so though. And now is the season of BBQs so there's more drinking now for a few more months than other times of the year, but I always drive home so some control is used.

That's true, when I drink I either DRINK or I do not, there is no "Oh I'll have a couple" I'm either smashed, or sober.

That sounds like a recipe for becoming an alcoholic.

On a side note, being either smashed or sober does seem to somewhat parallel my admittedly naive understanding of bi-polar: You are either high or low emotionally, there is no middle ground. Maybe I am confusing manic depressive disorder, but I think you will get what I am saying.

hmm ... usually "drunk" hits me once every few months.
3-5 beers at least once every month, sometimes more, especially in the summer...
1-2 beers at least once or twice a week.
