i used to collect the old tales from the crypt, tales from the vault of horror, shock..ones like that but during my stupid youth i threw em away.
i used to have "what if spiderman's uncle ben had lived" and few others, one had green lantern and a shark man..kinda wished i still had em.
Also used to collect "Cracked" and "Mad" mags.
Yes. i have been collecting for over 27 years now..yeah im a dork. though for 20 of those years i knew a guy who owned a comic book shop. so i would get deals on them. for most of those 27 years i would spend on avarage $40 a week. my wife made me stop spending so much a few years ago...
i have nearly EVERY spider-man made. I have nearly every X-men comic. i do have every wolverine made (wife got me 1-5 as a gift like 6 years ago).
i also have Archie 2-20! i had #1 but turned out to be a reprint. All the orginal TMNT comics (the B&W series that was violent!).
shit i have a closet full of comics. hard to say what i have and don't have anymore.

Wow. They should be worth some cash now.
Ive got a lot of old sandmans and hellblazers and the like, but the emotional attraction is higher than the retail value.
Ditto with my attraction to Iron Man, I had some when I was younger but my dad gave them away! ah heck... So now I'm starting from scratch.

I've still got 2000AD's from 1 to the hundreds somewhere.
yeah its worth some money...to someone willing to pay. wich is the problem. unless you have a very rare copy in great condition good luck.
i have tried to sale them a few times. but never was offered what i felt was right.

I'm in my office and I'm faily pissed at the moment. But early Spiderman comics used to be worth a lot.
How much are you aiming for?

what guides say and what people are willing to pay has never been even. That is even IF you could find someone who is willing to buy.
unless you have great issues. say where wolverine gets the adamantium pulled out by Magneto or Where a popular character is introduced.

True enough, Do you have anything like Amazing Fantasy #15 or Hulk #181, because people are actually paying a lot for those right now. In the thousands.
I never got comic books. I had some as a kid, and enjoyed reading them, but it never occurred to me to collect them. When I was older a good friend of mine collected comic books, and I'd go to the shop with him. He'd be in there forever, and I'd be bored out of my mind. I saw everything I needed to see within 10 minutes :^D
Personally I've started to collect old video game systems.
