Yes. i have been collecting for over 27 years now..yeah im a dork. though for 20 of those years i knew a guy who owned a comic book shop. so i would get deals on them. for most of those 27 years i would spend on avarage $40 a week. my wife made me stop spending so much a few years ago...

i have nearly EVERY spider-man made. I have nearly every X-men comic. i do have every wolverine made (wife got me 1-5 as a gift like 6 years ago).

i also have Archie 2-20! i had #1 but turned out to be a reprint. All the orginal TMNT comics (the B&W series that was violent!).

shit i have a closet full of comics. hard to say what i have and don't have anymore.

Wow that's awesome I've only really just started earlier this year, I'm working my way from Tales of suspense through to Iron Man, I decided that as my two fav Marvel Charecters are SpiderMan and Iron Man, I'd collect them. But spiderman had too many zeros on the end of the price tag to start there. :)

Wow. They should be worth some cash now.

Ive got a lot of old sandmans and hellblazers and the like, but the emotional attraction is higher than the retail value.

Ditto with my attraction to Iron Man, I had some when I was younger but my dad gave them away! ah heck... So now I'm starting from scratch.

I've still got 2000AD's from 1 to the hundreds somewhere.

Awesome, I've just been "trolling" (hah) ebay for bargains, I got Iron Man #1 for £29!! Steal.. and Iron Man*#2 for £7! I figure start at the beginning where things are 'spensive and work my way forward, I don't want to read them out of order.

If you've got Amazing Fantasy #15 or Amazing Spiderman #1 then wait until after the new film gets released and if the films good the prices should go up along with demand.

I'm in my office and I'm faily pissed at the moment. But early Spiderman comics used to be worth a lot.
How much are you aiming for?

what guides say and what people are willing to pay has never been even. That is even IF you could find someone who is willing to buy.

unless you have great issues. say where wolverine gets the adamantium pulled out by Magneto or Where a popular character is introduced.

True enough, Do you have anything like Amazing Fantasy #15 or Hulk #181, because people are actually paying a lot for those right now. In the thousands.

Hulk #181 has the first appearance of Wolverine? I have a copy of that someplace, but it is dog-eared.

I used to collect a lot of the Image brand stuff, Spawn, Shadow Hawk etc. Bought all the #1's hoping they'd be worth a lot later -_-

I never got comic books. I had some as a kid, and enjoyed reading them, but it never occurred to me to collect them. When I was older a good friend of mine collected comic books, and I'd go to the shop with him. He'd be in there forever, and I'd be bored out of my mind. I saw everything I needed to see within 10 minutes :^D

Nope. I understand why people do though. That's such a deep an involving collection hobby that I wouldn't know where to begin. Collecting comics is a bottomless pit.

Personally I've started to collect old video game systems.

That can be a bottomless pit too depending on how involved you want to be. With any kind of collection, it's best to specialize. You only have so much time, money, and room for old junk :^D

The real shame is that I was a wee kid buying and destroying vintage comics when they cost $.10 - $.15, if I had some of those they would be valuable
