I own a S&W 915 9mm. with Bianchi grips. Can't remember what's in it (some mega-expanding hollow points) because I haven't been to the range in too long.

Don't carry because the state doesn't think my life is worth protecting.:( (Don't have $$$$$$ or political connections.)

Hey Russ, what do you think of the FN Five seveN? Fires a 9mm shell that is armor piercing, i believe. Same shell used in the FN p90 submachinegun, except in a pistol shell. Holds 20... Ill try and find a link if you dont know anything about it...

Not too many guns here, but a nice collection of knives. I Prefer Beretta's, Smith & Wesson, and Glock's. R91 Tactical and Tango 51 of you wanna talk about sniper rifles ;)

Dabonehead I agree with what you said, and I don't think it qualified - as Russ said - as something from a "gun-grabber" since you confess to own one. This thread is a bit uncannily like something I'd read in an import-car forum, except its about killing machines not machines that do the 1/4 mile. Seems a bit childish, but anyway.

That said, anyone who wants to get a picture of a damn plethora of weapons check out Security Arms. They have a WHACK of pictures, some crazy looking weapons in there.

Don't own a gun, but want to. Seems that my apartment complex is allowing a few shady characters to move in, and ya never know. Security here ain't the greatest -- gated community with gates that haven't worked for more than 2 weeks at a time in the 2+ years I've been here. I'm close to downtown Atlanta, never know what kind of people will wander up here.

I've shot a bunch (well, a bunch for me) of different guns. Couple of 12 guages, S&W .45, Glock 9mm, a couple of .22 rifles, and an M1. M1 was a very nice weapon. I recognize the damage that gun could do, shooting one of those 12 guages at a piece of plywood about 15 feet away (at a range). Shredded the hell out of the thing. Not the kind of power I'd want really, but I can see how it would be useful in a threatening situation.

As for keeping it loaded, I can't see a reason to do it any other way. What good will a gun do if it ain't got no ammo.

No problem here with guns. They don't hurt anyone. It's the stupid people in the world that get the guns that hurt people.

A Tarus model 85 is in my car at all times. If I carry on my person it could be whatever I feel like that day(open carry, yes it does exist in some places). If I need it concealed a Springfield 191A1 or P9 in back pocket with mag in front pocket, this complies with state law. There are no permits here for carrying a loaded, concealed firearm.

Seph,

A 9MM round that was armor piercing would be illegal in civilian hands.

Mine's a good old fashoned 1911 MarkIV Series 80 stainless, match grade barrel/slide set, Ti trigger,Ti hammer,Ti F-pin. I USED to carry it on me, but after I noticed that I've NEVER used it at all (save practice) it now just sits behind lock and key.

When I can carry a gun, I will carry a Colt 1911A .45 automatic and a Desert Eagle. That should be enough knock down power for any BAD situation.

Pastfinder,

Have you ever actually fired a Desert Eagle? Or even held one in your hand?

Russ, maybe we should dig out our arsenal pictures we posted a few years ago :D

I recently picked up a P12 ParaOrdnance to add to the collection, which is actually a fairly accurate and smooth semi-auto, but it's too dawg-gone heavy for carry.

My weapon of choice for concealed carry is my S&W model 39-2 9mm. Quite an old semi-auto, but it's an all alloy frame, 8 shot, and accurate as hell. I've owned this one for over 20 years. Stoked with Eldorados, it does a nice job ;)

A hell, here is an old kitchen table shot of some of my toys: AK-47/Savage FP-110 .308/Browning Challenger/Colt Python/S&W 39-2/Bryco .25/Colt Officers .45

Any one else here do any reloading? Couldn't afford to shoot all of them unless I reload....nor stay proficient with my carry guns....

Maybe I'm going to be misunderstood, banned, hated...

I read a lot of threads where people complain that once again, kids were shot in a school, in streets, anywhere...

But when I read this thread, I realize that MANY people own a gun (or several ones).

I'm not trying to launch a political debate, but don't you think less people would be killed if not everybody owned a gun ?

I mean, in Europe, very few people own guns... OK, there are hunters too, but people don't walk in the streets with guns, people don't say "I need a gun to protect my family" and I never heard of kids getting killed in schools.

My point is : if it was harder to get a gun in the US, if fewer people had guns, don't you think less people would get killed ???

Due to my bad money handling, god credit cards are such an easy way to buy a hand gun, i had to sell all of my guns. Due to my better financial situation i now can get back into the saddle. I really liked my snub nose 357 revolver very much, so i'm going to look for a good model in that range. No S&W due to there political ass kissing. Nothing like the stopping power of the 357.
Others i'm considering are the Beretta 8040F Cougar or the H&K USP40 in a .40 cal. Anyone have any other gun makers worth a look at?

Those desert eagles are a sight to behold, especially to hold, if you have big hands. To much $$$$$ to drop on such a big firearm, but oneday would be a good addition to a collection.:)

3615buck, well you demonstrate my point in another thread that we Americans look pretty bizarre to the rest of the world. Just so I don't get too far off topic, I try to remember to carry 30 cents to call a cop. We can't carry legally out here in future land which has got me worried that Gov. Davis will declare himself Dictator for Life. I'm deadly with my purse though.

NO!!!! and why should I. Guns are for people with small dicks and lack of self-estime or whatever it's called.

It should be forbidden to carry a gun what so ever. Guns leads to even more guns, and endless war with no point at all.

In other words, if it's right to carry guns then it must be right for contries to have nuclear weapons...NOT!!!. It's all the same and don't give me some crap about people being able to defend them selfs.

Aod ;)

I DO, a Beretta model 21 Bobcat, good little gun in a Galco wallet holster that is now banned thanks to the Liberal Democrat gun grabbers. Hardly tell you've got it in your pocket, maybe a little low on firepower but when you don't have many clothes on it's a litttle easier to carry than my Ruger P94, It's not too bad though when using CCI Stingers in it. I still want to try one of the model 3032 Tomcats, a little more umph being a 32 cal.

Thanks Skoorb.

About Russ, if I don't get trolled by him at least once a day, I just don't feel right.

You know what is funny? Of the people debating the pros/cons of guns on this board, not one of them is the type of person I'd be concerned about regarding gun ownership. Let's face it, the people who visit this board for the most part are very intelligent, and I don't think any pose a threat to anyone else.

The kind of people that scare me are the 'Hank Carr' type. Two years ago he started a day by killing a little boy when he was playing with his gun, he finished the day by killing three police officers and shooting two additional civilians in Tampa fl. Hank was enamored with guns in such a way that a person should never ever be. It's the true 'gun-nut' that worries society, not the guy-next-door who gets a gun for "just in case" reasons.

That being said...

Russ, if you don't stop doing that with your guns not only can you go blind but you can blow your wee-wee off too! :p

No, the title of the thread was "Do you carry a gun".
I expected answers such as "Yes" or "No".

I would not have opened the thread if the title had been "What's your favourite gun" or "My 357 turns me on"

Sephiroth:

The Steyr pistol you are talking about (the Five-Seven) does not fire a 9mm round but rather a 5.7mm one (hence the name). As best I can recall the round is actually aluminum with a steel tip and jacket, so it is very light and an excellent penetrator (I am a tad skeptical of how much damage it is likely to do, though I reckon it carries a lot of energy as it looks like a tiny rifle round and appears to use a lot of powder). The ATF has determined that the round has no possible purpose as a sporting load and so it is illegal in the United States, as are the weapons that fire it.
