I am a firm believer in life after death. Do you guys believe in an afterlife? Do you think you will be held accountable by some greater being for your actions in this world? Let's hear ATOT.
 
Afterlife? Yup. Being held accountable? Ehh, not really. Mostly I just pretend (which is basically the same thing as believing if you do it long enough, right?) that the afterlife will be like the one in Deathkiller.

When you die, little nanobots in your brain transmit a digital map of your mind to giant virtual reality servers in the future where your duplicate personality gets to live with everyone else's personalities in a world without pain or physical limitations and everyone gets along because they all kind of get to talk out their problems for as long as anyone wants. Woo.
 
sure... you'll be called to account in your afterlife by everyone to who you shipped a DOA CPU in this life..

Please don't think other wise. People like to think of an after life because they are scared of death. Just remember that when you die you aren't going to know what is going on around you.

I look forward to death and the endless expanse of uncut grass I can curl my toes in. It will smell good, like uncut grass and I can put my face in it and breathe the new life from it.

Not now, of course, I need to walk the Earth and feel the grass here first.
 
I don't think it really matters one way or the other, since I believe that consciousness is only an illusion anyway.

But as for your question, I don't believe in an afterlife, but I believe it's possible.
 
I look at it this way: There either is an afterlife or there is not. My explicit belief will not matter, so I choose not to waste mental effort. The same goes for the concept of reincarnation.

What if the whole show is run by some deity who sends you wherever you think you ought to go? You're kinda screwed then. It's not like it takes any "mental effort" to believe in something anyway... I believe in New Jersey even though I've never been there. It's not like I have to periodically stop during the day and concentrate on believing in New Jersey.
