I decided i'd change the settings on my computer today so that the taskbar would auto-hide... thinking htat it would free up that much more space on my desktop.

anwaysy-- now i find myself not knowing what time it is (no taskbar clock to look at all the time)

10 hours later, i got frustrated and switched it back to always on.

:)

At 1920x1200 I don't have much of a space problem and I find the auto hide feature extremely annoying.

I love it, would never use Windows without it. I also run IE in full sceen (F11 key), but I run my monitor at 800x600.

If i want to see what time it is I move the mouse to the bottom and the taskbar pops up (or hit the start button on the keyboar). You did know you could do that, right?

nope, didnt know the start button did that.

is thier a way to make the taskbar come up instantly-- with no delay at all? like a registry key or something that can be changed?

The only people I have encountered who enable Autohide taskbar have been homo-erotic, fudge packing Salami suckers.

If you don't fit this profile then you may want to reevaluate your preferences.

I LOVE IT!!

I hate seeing that damn bar at the bottom of the screen when I'm surfing. It's useless.

When i need it, I move the mouse down to the bottom of the screen. Seems pretty simple to me.

nope. Hate having to move my mouse down, wait for the thing to pop up, then click on something.
