I'm curious what people make, but I rarely ask since it appears to be a social taboo (as evidenced by this thread).
I'd honestly have no qualms about divulging my income except that my employer has asked me not to. I'm not sure if there's actually a clause in my contract about it, but I'd rather not have it reflect poorly on me.
Honestly I don't really understand why it's considered "personal" information. I don't judge someone based upon their income.
Doesn't the government employ "equal pay for equal" work? Are there any government employees that could chime in with regards to the efficacy of this model?
