I think I usually only use the word chick when I'm in the company of other guys. When females are around I usually refer to them as "the girls".

if i was just meeting someone i would never refer to them as a chick. amongst my friends, we refer to the girls as chicks all the time. they refer to themselves as chicks in certain contexts as well. if i come across a woman that feels "chick" is derogatory id probably use it more.

I refer to my wife as "Julie" most of the time...since that is her name. I usually refer to other women by their first name as well. If I don't know their first name I generally refer to people as dudes or chicks or "that dumbfuck" seriously, who gives a fuck?

I used to find it derogatory.. because I didnt use it much. Now I use it all the time. What I find derogatory - is being called a 'bird'. Yah, doesnt sound right to me. But I spose its just like 'chick'.. I'll probably get used to it.

What was that line from UHF?

"I don't know how many time I've told those boys, never call chicks broads."
