A billion would go a long way towards altruistic purposes.
Present tense.Luckily he's given a lot more than that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomberg_Philanthropies
Ensure is a strong word. Seems to me a billion in one shot to feed the hungry, would do more to bolster Democratic optics than a shit ton of "Trump bad ads".Donating to ensure we flush the orange turd seems pretty altruistic to me. Would indirectly and directly improve the lives of many many people and future generations, and only at the expense of a willfully ignorant zealot base. Pretty efficient use of money.
Why not, you believed Trump.

I don't. My state has more registered Ds, but they failed to even bother the last couple of times. If they had, The Don may not have won this state.I think we have a habit of underestimating the likely turnout of Democrat voters in November.

Didn't Hillary already prove that a billion dollar campaign didn't work? I wonder how many homeless people's lives could be improved by all the money Bloomberg is throwing away. The guy knows he's not gonna win the election, doesn't want to, and just wants to be a disrupting element working to stop Trump, that's it.

Through Bloomberg Philanthropies, the billionaire has donated an estimated $8 billion to gun control, climate change and other causes, according to Forbes. Alongside fellow billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, Bloomberg has signed the Giving Pledge, vowing to donate at least half of his wealth to charity.
It's nice that he's giving money away, but considering how those donor-advised funds work, it seems like a better thing for society would be to tax people so they could never have that much money in the first place. Hasan Minhaj explained it in more detail:Per Wikipedia
I believe it is typical of conservatives to view others as being motivated by self interest. Being raised as a typical Catholic, for example, and a worthless sinner in need of repentance and the self flagellation, can have that effect. When we have it pounded into us that we are untrustworthy and prone to evil we create what we fear and project it out there on other people.I'll believe that when I see it.
My first choice in a vacuum is Mayor Pete. I was going to support Biden because I thought he had the best chance to beat Trump. However Joe's performance hasn't cut it to date. Not that one. The other one. Can he whoop The Don in the Fall?
Are we United For Mike?
I don't particularly care for him, but it's all about tossing the Orange Menace.

Bloomberg is a mixed bag. He is a highly competent guy, ran the city well and knows how to punch Trump where he lives. Trump must be treated like a bully and too many Dems have been unwilling to do. However stop and frisk stick in my craw not just because of the policy itself but the timing in renouncing it. He waiting until running for President which smells insincere. Take a look at this clip. Trevor Noah's excellent summary on the effects of stop and frisk on minorities of which I am one.

Having said that we have someone currently in office who is far worse on these issues and wanted stop and frisk nationwide. Trump is incompetent as fuck, corrupt and is normalizing autocratic rule. If it means getting rid of the orange menace I can hold my nose and vote for Bloomberg.
