I suppose i'm fortunate. My carrier doesn't charge for incoming txts. Hasn't charged for the whole time i've had a phone capable of receiving txts. I don't know about before.

I only respond to txt messages with a phone call. If they can't talk, i can't make myself care.

Thankfully i also get free incoming because i do seem to burn up a lot of minutes on incoming calls. But this is also helpful for work. I don't have to carry around two phones or forward a company phone to my personal phone. Now if only i could get a cheaper plan that wasn't nation wide but covered my whole state, and maybe VA and SC for less that $45 a month and not just some oddly scattered "local" areas across the nation... With free incoming i probably only need about 150-200 minutes at most.

I don't have a smart phone and have little desire to get one along with their pricey data plans.

fuck text messaging I say

if it isn't important enough to actually call me over at that time then don't bother me

I'd rather get a text for a non-time-sensitive issue than get woken up or interrupted by a phone call, as I will typically wake up or stop what I'm doing if someone calls.
