i just from somebody that the airlines won't let you take an earlier flight via standby if you use priceline. delta let me do that last march. i wanted an earlier flight from san antonio to nyc, so i arrived at the san antonio airport 5 hours early and they got my on an earlier flight. they said they didn't care how i bought the tickets, just that a coach seat is a coach seat.

Can't believe they haven't locked this yet. Almost as unbelievable as the crap I dealt with through Priceline. Only thing I got from them was an unwanted subscription to Rolling Stone, in an attempt to add to my bid, that I wasn't allowed to cancel (despite the fact that they guaranteed I would be able to). They said I could cancel after the 2 free issues, but before the 3rd arrived. Guess what, the 2nd AND 3rd issue arrived the same day. Called to cancel and was told that I had waited too long. Neither priceline or the subscription company were willing to help at all. And Priceline's rules were stupid in almost an arbitrary way while their customer service people were rude and completely unhelpful. I'll never even visit their website again.

PS anyone seen any good deals on a 30-60 gig 7200 rpm HD?

Can't complain myself yet. Booked a very nice Quality Inn motel in Kissimmee Fla recently for $65 for 5 nights.

:D:|:(:Q:);):p:cool::disgust::frown::confused: Huh? That was a non-sequitur... 3 pages of ranting about priceline, and out of nowhere, "...don't buy from compgeeks". WTF?

Priceline.com clearly states, as i have almost bought tickets there, that when you buy your ticket they do not guarantee you will get the day(s) you requested. They only guarantee that you will be given a ticket for within 24 hours of your request. Next time you make a big purchase like this how about reading into it a little.

I have had no exp with priceline. Its best to buy from an airline website like www.ual.com or whatever because if you get screwed over they will take care of you better. With some situations they tell you to call your travel agent and its a hastle if you bought from someone else other than directly from the airline. I did see some cheaper tickets at

www.cheaptickets.com

Take a look

wow, i never knew priceline had authority to pick flights within 24 HOURS yout requested date as someone said above..this could really foul people up!!

Now for the original poster, you can post topics like this in the Off Topic forum and save all the people who are complaining you posted this in the wrong forum. I think a lot of the criticism is that people think you requested the 3rd or the 5th (b/c Priceline wouldnt let you pick the 4th again) so you got what you asked for...

I agree that Priceline, with their FAKE "taxes" and fees is not good for airfare in many cases...very good for hotels though...
