In our neighborhood, we have a gal, who's name I won't mention, as I've known (not really well, mind you) , but I used to see her, her hubby and kids dress up on Sunday, presumably to go to church, brunch, or whatever.

About 2 1/2 years ago, there was some kind of argument, the hubby leaves. About a month later, this kind of good looking Asian gal comes to the house. They are having a BBQ, kids seem happy and all are partying. The Asian gal and our neighbor are out looking at her car, which is a Nissan 350z. They get into it and are listening to some music for about 30min, they they get out, and are all over each other, while heading back into the house, while the kids are doing whatever they are doing. Ok, fine. I guess a relationship has begun. Almost as fast as she showed up that night, seems like she has moved in. All seems cool, but one night there are all these arguments, then suddenly, she's gone. Never seen her in the months since.

Fast forward about 2mos later.... This chick pulls up, with a big lifted Chevy 4.x4 P/U. She comes out of the house and gives the gal a hug, then they go inside. I noticed that it has Montana license plates on it. I'm thinking that this is a long lost cousin, or something. Ok, cool, I don't see them again for a few days. Next time I see them, they are by the curb next to the big Chev 4x4. Cowboy chick is cranking up the music, opening the hood, and basically actiong like a dude. :Q
A couple days later, a big U-Haul truck pulls up and a bunch of people help move all the crap out and into her garage.

So, now it looks like Cuz, or Auntie has decided to stay awhile....Wrong! I'm leaving for work and see them in their driveway kissing so hard, I'd have to say they were tickling each others tonsils with their tongues. Ewwww, I thought, but whatever. Afterall, diversity is what makes America great, right?

Now we go about 90 days forward. There is this huge commotion in the neighborhood, and he/she/it gets arrested. Apparently there was a domestic quarrel and the he/she/it, basically beat the crap out the mom, in front of her kids. The cops came and so far, about 90 days later, we've not seen Cow-girl, boy, whatever.

In my synopsis, I guess, some women leave abusive men, just to turn gay and be abused by a woman instead.

Cliff Notes:
Woman separates from her husband.
Starts living with some Asian girl with her children.
They break up
Her cousin or aunt from Montana moves in (aka Cowboy chick, "Cowgirl")
Then one day, they are kissing!!! (YES)
90 days later, the Cowgirl beats the crap out of the woman.

Sh!t happens.

Edit: I don't really understand the title...maybe she was bi? Or maybe she was gay after all. Perhaps she finally realized herself.

Hey, all I can tell you is what I've seen happen, thru my eyes. I don't understand it and don't really understand the "cliff notes" thing. I'm hoping you all can help me sort it out. Questions might help me remember some things. :)

what kind of stupid question is that?
NM, of course that is a touchy subject in Ca. I wanna hear from some people from other areas. In Ca, almost everything goes these days. :(

Maybe this state should fall into the ocean...just gimme about 4 hours warning so I can pack up what is important to me. ;)

it's not a 'touchy subject', it's a stupid question

How could anyone think that someone who was once a heterosexual could NEVER turn to homosexuality?

Your kidding, right?
I would do anything for love, but "I won't do that!" ;)

Maybe your answer was as stupid as you perceived my question?

This, of course, is a hot-button topic, since there has been no universally conclusive proof that homosexuality is from birth rather than learned. (Notice I said universally. There've been some pretty convincing studies for the "from birth" point of view, at least in my opinion)

Anyway, my opinion is thus: with the exception of mental health problems due to traumatic incidents (molestation, etc.) people cannot "turn" homosexual. They can, however, lie to themselves (consciously or not, for whatever reason) for years and think they're heterosexual, then later discover they're gay or bisexual with a strong prefference for the same sex. This, I think, is what likely happened in this case.

I'm not talking about everyone, I'm talking about there being at least one person.

Seeing as how my friend is one of these people (and sonz70 will soon be another), I can say, with 100% accuracy, that 'hetero do go gay'

I think you have a point, yukichigai, because my wife believed herself to be completely and utterly straight, albeit it a little bi-curious, until a few months ago. With her curiousity satisfied, she is now convinced that she is bisexual with a strong preference for the opposite sex. She doesn't want to be, and doesn't believe herself to be, a lesbian, but does like getting it from both sexes. She just prefers male to female. (lucky for me for a number of reasons)

TexDotCom,

Thanks for what seems like the first intelligent and rational post in this thread, so far.

I did not post this for "flame bait". I am genuinely interested in how and what transpired before my very eyes.
I have one major concern however, and that is the Kids. What is this doing to them? They have seen what their mom is / does. How does a child understand / deal with that? What kind of long term imprint does this make?
Will the kids be gay?
Will they need counseling?
Are they mentally in crisis?

As a kid, if I had seen that kind of transition in my family, I'm sure I'd have needed some help. :(

A lot of gay people used to marry opposite sex partners and I'm sure it is still common. I guess some people are bisexual or gay and don't feel comfortable early in life to live that way, so they "come out" later.

alright... now the real important question... is the mom lesbian hot?

Cute, yes. She is a 28-30 y.o., but kinda short, just slightly overweight, brunett, permed hair, brown eyes. Rack is average.

Hot = No. This is not someone I'd take a second look at upon first glance, although she could grow on you....scary.

The physical abuse will probably cause the children more phsycological harm than their Mothers sexuality.

From a laymans POV it seems this woman is confused. She leaves a man and hooks up with a woman who exhibits the worse traits a man can have. Odds are she suffers from extremely low self esteem. This could be a result of the failure of her marriage and an abusive spouse.

Don't look for very many more. Like ShotgunSteve said, "You're asking questions regarding sex to the people of ATOT?"

Seriously, though, I'm sure she would have to sit down and talk to her kids and let them know what's going on. I would hope she wouldn't just expect them to understand why daddy left and was replaced by another mommy. That's gotta mess someone up. I personally don't understand how a woman could be married to a man for, obviously, some time and then decide she wants another woman instead. I've never been in that situation, though, so I am at a loss for facts/experience.

i dislike lesbos, they are taking away all the chicks. especailly all the ugly butch ones are taking away all the good looking ones.

now, i think it is easier for girls to turn to girls because there is no stigma with girl on girl sex... hell we men like them (should've told them, only good looking ones). so in this case, guys got shafted.

I don't think that everyone is either completely straight or gay. I think that there are probably varying levels of attraction to both sexes. It's like a slider button. Some people are all the way over to one side and can be considered totally straight/gay, while other people might be 3/4 of the way over to one side, where they have a predominant attraction to one sex but are still curious about the other. Some might be in the middle, 50/50. It varies, depending on the person.
