It's not so much a suprise as it is a sadness that many people are proclaiming..if not even endorsing streaming/downloading as the death knell for physical media.
Home theatre/video seems to have fought the good fight thus far and I'm not sure how much of that is from the consumer or just the simple fact that it's beastly format to try and move to a fully digital distributed format.
I don't care if streaming is provided as an alternative, if somebody wants it, then fine. I just don't want to see the day when physical media is no longer an option for video.
I do not have the same opinon of music and have fully embrased the download culture of that market. But music is a very, very different game than video.
