I think it is very boring. Here are my reasons in no particular order...they are just my opinion
1. Too slow. Players stand around / walk / jog much of the time.
2. Ball travels too slow.
3. Field is too big which adds to the slow feeling of the game.
4. Generally games are very low scoring.. I think due to the large fields.
I suppose I'll do the other "major" sports now..
American Football - Like
1. Lots of contact.
2. Multiple ways to score.
3. Fast paced.
Hockey - Like
Generally Hockey has what I think is lacking in Soccer.
1. Very fast paced - They are obviously skating.
2. Puck is small, and travels in excess of 100MPH and can really hurt you. Takes guts to block a puck.
3. Don't think the rink is large enough though. I like a more open (fast) game.
4. Games are also low scoring, but there is much more contact in Hockey.
Baseball - Like
1. The shear amount of skill it takes to hit a MLB pitch.
2. All the unique things a ball with stiches can do.
3. All the little things in baseball. All the pitching matchups. strategies, etc are interesting to me.
Basketball - Can't stand it
1. Meaningful contact = foul (wimpy)
2. Doesn't take much skill to put a ball in a basket - everyone can do it, and it's even easier when you are 7 feet tall.
Just take a look at how few people actually attend the Major League Soccer games, or even know the name of their local team. We are not brought up watching soccer, so most people could care less. You don't like baseball because your culture does not bring you up that way... same thing with Soccer over here. It does not rank very high.
