Once again, actually helping the cause takes a back seat to "politics".

Drop the BS, move on, and find a way to help women who are struggling. This pathetic showmanship from both parties and this board is disgusting.

Name some. Hell, name one.

Wisconsin just repealed equal pay for women law.
Virginia's trans-vaginal ultrasound bill that was only changed after massive outcry.
Multiple GOP run state legislatures trying to defund Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides extensive healthcare options for women.
Mississippi passing a law that had the express intent of forcing closed the only clinic in Mississippi that performs abortions thus preventing women from making their own healthcare choices.

Completely untrue. They're called premiums. Everyone pays them. Check into it. Intellectual dishonesty FTL.

Sry, shoulda put a /sarcasm tag. I'm well aware that people pay premiums as I see the evidence of such in every payslip.

However, there are people on the Dem side that think such things should be given free of charge at the company's expense.

It was a bad choice of words, but I think most clear thinking people know she was talking about having a job outside the home and the struggles those kind of working women have. I don't think most people including Rosen thinks raising kids/taking care of a home is not work.

Yes, demanding that companies give women the pill, free of charge, for non medical reasons is so mean.

And bad choice of words indeed. There are women that choose to stay at home even if that means that the family can't afford that $600k house and the 2 $30k cars. When we had kids, my wife and I jointly made the decision that she would stay at home with the kids - it was a good choice for us in spite of the economic impact. She was, and women like her will be, highly insulted by those remarks.

My wife caught that on the news and flew off the handle.
"That asshole has never changed a diaper in his life"

hate to say it but this woman's right on romney's wife, who never has to worry about bringing home money since her husband's so well off, and who has the luxury of being able to stay at home to raise her kids.
I think this rosen person could have said it in a better way, but I don't see much outrage here.

'Guess what: his wife has never really worked a day in her life. She's never really dealt with the kind of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school, and why do we worry about their future.'

When you put it in context, what Rosen is saying is spot on.
Romney's are a Stepford family, except the husband is robot.

Everyone likes to blame the economy, but even poor families can have a stay at home mom, and still manage to have food and a roof over their heads.

My family gets by on $1500 a month. That pays for rent, car insurance, food, utilities, gas, clothing, etc and I still have internet.

The problem is, everyone likes to blame the top, but as with most things in life, their are issues at all levels.

If every person lived within their means, vs trying to live outside of it, paycheck to paycheck, then we wouldn't have nearly so much bitching about the rest of the economy.

I read on the news sob stories about a family of four, and both parents are having to work two jobs each to pay for their two children. And make rent etc. Then you see they live in a 5k square foot house, have four different brand new vehicles, etc, etc.

So it isn't just poor people, but you have people making 100k a year that live paycheck to paycheck also.

Also, Romney is the one bashing Obama on women's unemployment. Well, if you listen to Anne. Romney, nothing wrong with not having a job.

Jekyl and Hyde time eh? Remember when I posted that pic of whats her name? I thought the pose rather amusing, but I didn't say one thing against her because there was nothing to say. She was a woman with an opinion and she said it. Oh, but you were offended! That's how you made it sound.

So now you are going waaayyyy beyond that and attributing "nothing wrong with not having a job" and other crap when you have no idea how she feels given a situation in context, which you glibly omit in your belittling of women.

The truth is you are for women who speak as you want them to speak, think as you want them to. You stand up for women, as long as they think as you want them to. Others? Well, they are just women it would seem and their opinions aren't important to you. No, you feel entitled to speak for and deride them when they don't. She needs to be bitch slapped eh?

Good work Sparky!

Im just LOL at anyone who thinks the Romney family knows anything about the real world and working class people. No matter the discussion they are going to be so off base its not even funny.

If staying home and raising kids is a full time job, do welfare moms still need to get off their buts and start working?

Given the way Democrats are demonizing Romney and his charmed life, it's funny to think back a few years when they were all drooling over John Kerry as their hero du jour...

But, but, but, that's different!!!

Wisconsin just repealed equal pay for women law. That is NOT what that bill was about. Please do some research.
Virginia's trans-vaginal ultrasound bill that was only changed after massive outcry. So you are telling me nothing has changed.
Multiple GOP run state legislatures trying to defund Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides extensive healthcare options for women. There objection is NOT to Planned Parenthood but to government funded abortions.
Mississippi passing a law that had the express intent of forcing closed the only clinic in Mississippi that performs abortions thus preventing women from making their own healthcare choices. Really? Women in Mississippi still have th the right to an abortion, do they not? I bet this abortion mill was government supported. If a woman there wants to kill her child, I guess she will just have to pay for it herself.

I hope this helps you think.

Stay out of touch and attack the messengers, Republicans, see how that works out for you. Number one issue for women in swing states was health care. Romney has nothing to offer on that except letting insurers drop people for preexisting conditions again.

But, but, but, that's different!!!

I prefer an honest scoundrel over hypocritical ones. The Reps this and that. We pretty know where many stand on issues in the Rep party and some of them are staggeringly stupid. On the other hand we have those who call them out because they look down on women that they don't agree with then proceed to look down on women they don't agree with. This is one such case and it's glaringly obvious that it's one opinion needed please. To paraphrase "it's the ideology stupid".

The Wisconsin law, why should women be given equal pay to men just for being a woman?

Take that as a sexist comment, I don't. If a woman has the same job and accomplishes the same amount of work, then the woman should be given equal pay. If she does more, then she should receive higher pay than a man. If she does less, less pay. But in all cases, I disagree that wages should be a government mandate. If a company is not paying women up to your standards, don't purchase products from that company, purchase your products from a competitor.

As for your Mississippi issue - here is the perfect opportunity for you to start up your own business and create much needed jobs for this country. You would be the ONLY abortion providing company in Mississippi, 100% of the market share.

As for denying them choices, how about also blaming the people such as yourself who are not taking the initiative to accomplish what you seem to *care* so deeply about!
