PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Ann Romney’s debut on Twitter couldn’t have come at a more opportune time.

Ann’s first tweet came just moments after Democratic strategist and DNC adviser Hilary Rosen lobbed an insult at Ann Romney, suggesting that the 64-year-old mother of five and grandmother of 16 had never held a job.

“Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life,” said Rosen, who was being interviewed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the “war on women.”

And then, just like that, a familiar name popped up on Twitter: @AnnDRomney.

“I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work,” Ann tweeted.

The Romney campaign confirmed to ABC News that the account belongs to Ann Romney.

The tweet came just as husband Mitt wrapped up a second day of campaigning that all but entirely focused on the “war against women,” packing events with female business leaders and accusing the Obama administration’s economic policies of hurting women.

“I could not disagree with Hilary Rosen any more strongly. Her comments were wrong and family should be off limits. She should apologize,” Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in a tweet.

Top Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod also tweeted his disapproval: “Also Disappointed in Hilary Rosen’s comments about Ann Romney. They were inappropriate and offensive.”

Following the interview, Rosen herself tweeted, “I’ve nothing against @AnnRomney. I just don’t want Mitt using her as an expert on women struggling $ to support their family. She isn’t.”

Rosen kept tweeting, not appearing to back off of her comments.

“@AnnDRomney Please know, I admire you. But your husband shouldn’t say you are his expert on women and the economy,” said Rosen.

Then Rosen offered a welcome message to Ann, tweeting, “oh and @AnnDRomney welcome to Twitter. You will find it a very exhilarating and often unforgiving place!”

You know what this means?

The democrats are waging a war on women. There's no other reasonable explanation.

I guess raising 5 kids now means you arent an expert on women according to Rosen. I am sure Mitt will take this douche's opinion under advisement.

Really bad choice of words. She was attempting to point out the economic point of the argument by stating Anne Romney didn't have to work because Mitt was so well off. Most women don't have that option. She sure stepped in it.

However it can be pointed out the numerous GOP legislative inititives that have been against the interests of women.

Rosen is right. Romney's can't relate to struggling working women. Mitt doesn't even try, he expects his wife to talk to the maid and tell him what problems working women have.

Rosen can't relate to women who opt to stay home and raise their children. I think she's insulted at the very notion that women would ever choose to do this.

Yes, demanding that companies give women the pill, free of charge, for non medical reasons is so mean.

And bad choice of words indeed. There are women that choose to stay at home even if that means that the family can't afford that $600k house and the 2 $30k cars. When we had kids, my wife and I jointly made the decision that she would stay at home with the kids - it was a good choice for us in spite of the economic impact. She was, and women like her will be, highly insulted by those remarks.

Also, Romney is the one bashing Obama on women's unemployment. Well, if you listen to Anne. Romney, nothing wrong with not having a job.

Wow, so the DNC thinks it is horrible if a woman chooses to raise her children and now work. They really DO hate women.

Typical woman hating democrats. Not surprising. Somehow they will manage to project this hatred of women on the GOP, however.

And I bet Romney's had nannies, so I doubt it was hard work for Anne as she claims.

Wrong. They are waging war on women that have selected a traditional lifestyle to stay at home and raise children. If Mrs. Romney were a true, proud feminist women, she would have aborted five times, wouldn't be married at all, and perhaps work at least two REAL jobs. Because we all know that raising a family involves no work and stay-at-home moms have no value.

Completely untrue. They're called premiums. Everyone pays them. Check into it. Intellectual dishonesty FTL.

So those unemployed women that Romney is bashing Obama for, Anne Romney can relate to them how? Unemployed means looking for work and unable to find it, not voluntarily sitting at home.

Poor choice of words, but Rosen was 100% correct. Romney holding up his wife as something that gives him insight into the economic concerns of the working woman is completely bogus.

Unless the average working woman's main economic plight is to decide which Cadillac to put on the elevator that morning to drive around.

The very fact that Romney has to talk to his wife to relate to women just shows how out of touch he is with working women. He can't be bothered talking to them directly, that's the wife's job.

Romney is far removed from economic concerns, we all know this.

It's so funny how when a Democrat points out that Mitt can't ask his wife for valid insight on women's unequal pay in the workplace, the glass ceiling, or workplaces trying to fire women who take birth control, that the GOP decides that Democrats are attacking women. But when the GOP is genuinely trying to erode the rights of women, they defend that it's not an attack on women. It's like if a Democrat pointed out how the Nazis killing jews was wrong, the GOP would rail on them that they're anti Catholic because the Democrats weren't attacking how the Nazis also killed Catholics.

Victim card, victim card, victim card. How next will the GOP play the victim card. Fucking retards.
