DJ Hero

I'm so excited!!!!! Can't wait to get out of work and pick this up.

I was in doubt as to whether I would get this right away or wait, but after I saw the commercial with Daft Punk..it's a must have...for me at least

I played it at Fry's and it was confusing for me. It had good songs but other than pushing the colored buttons I didn't know what to do. I'm sure with time I would learn what to do but it seemed confusing for the 2 songs I played. Also the "turntable" felt really flimsy and that it would break on the first drop.

I preordered the premium edition from amazon for $0.25 it should be here sometime today. I'm pretty excited to try it out.

I'll pick it up when it fails miserably and gets marked down to $50.

Seriously? $120?

For $20 less 3 of my friends could play RockBand with me. Maybe if Harmonix had done it I would pick it up day one. That and Scratch the Ultimate DJ has a better controller. An actual Numark device that works outside of the game. I already have Numark tables/mixer and trust their quality much more that Activisions. I'm jaded though as I had to go through multiple GHWT guitars to get one that worked.

I at least have a mild spark of interest in the newer GH/BH games (though I haven't purchased any). I have absolutely no interest in this one - seems like more Activision shovelware and I question whether there is even a market for this game.

Amazing game!!!

I love the music, controls, gameplay, everything!!!

Great blend of hip hop, house, rock, old school, etc.

A lot of tracks that many people probably have never heard of, but many are blended in with familiar tracks that most should know and love.

There are several elements in the game so there is little bit of a learning curve, but the tutorial does a great job of illustrating how the game works. For example, you have the standard button press matching that's similar to the other hero/band games, then there's the scratch moments where you hold down one of the colored buttons and move your hands back and forth. Your timing of when you press the button, move back and forth, and let go are critical in these moments. There are scratch notes, of course, of several different lengths. Then, we have the cross fader than moves you from one song to the other. I love the way they implemented this, durring moments when the mix moves to one song, the blue or green bar thing will sway to the right or left depending on which sound the mix is triggering. You essentially match those bars. This is confusing at first, but after a few play throughs, I got the hang of it. There are also other things, like the sample and effects, but I don't want to do an entire review of the game right now...lol.

I love this game, and hope others will give it a try. It does add several new elements and concepts to the genre. If you're a fan of the underground dance/house music scene, this game is must.

There's tracks from Pryds - pjanoo, Fedde le grande - Put your hands up, even Sandy Rivera's - I can't stop (I couldn't believe this).

numark sucks ballsack. Horrible quality.

I played it for about 10 minutes at best buy. I was not impressed. Honestly I felt even more gay then I did playing rock band the first time.

If your sexual orientation "changes" because you play a game, you may have bigger issues. 😀

Seriously though, DJ Hero looks kind of fun but I don't see Activision pumping out DLC like the Rock Band crew does.

Maybe I'll wait until next year when DJ Hero 3 comes out so I can buy this one cheap.

It's interesting if you don't like Rock music, rock music is outsold by urban music in the US so this game should technically sell better. If it actually will is yet to be seen.

ok yea I guess it is outsold, but it doesn't seem nearly as fun to play.

That correlation may not be entirely accurate, some of the urban population that can spring for a CD might not be able to spring for an XBox/PS3 and DJ Hero... who's to say. Still, though, this looks awful.

Never mind that they may not be the type to game. :hmm:

lol 85% of urban music is bought by middle class white people. This game appeals to a totally different group of people than GH or Rock Band. I suspect most of the target crowd will be able to afford it. I don't really like it, played the demo at BB, but I don't like GH either. DJ Hero will sell, every video game store I've been in has it on demo and is pushing it hard. I guess some people do like these simon says games

I own this and have been enjoying it. I really recommend that you start with the tutorial to lean what to do, if you don't you will be lost and think this sucks. The demo in the store lets you jump right to the mixes. Not the best thing to do.

I think metal heads are going to bash this game because of the type of music. It was the same way in high school for me. My friends were all metal heads and to fit in I went with it. Screw that now I'm fan of all music and I still like my rock like Joe Satriani, Steve Vie, Metallica ect but a mix like Rick James and Gwen Stefani rock my nuts.

It has been a fun game for me and the price did not matter.
