kickstarter has more RPGs than a person can play in a single lifetime. time to develop technology to freeze time while gaming!

I've backed this - it is a bit unfortunate that they are in the middle of the resurgence of TBS rpg; though they started the design back in 2010 so in some sense they were a bit ahead of the curve. However I really like the studio; as they will support their software long after the fact (they were patching DD as late as 2010) and have a general policy of transparency. Anyways the game itself might (or might not) be the best of the group (esp when compared with torment, wasteland 2 and project eternity) but it will certainly have its own charm and unique ideas as well as high quality production.

I agree, it does not need to be the best, it just needs to be unique and be interesting. In the end it was their inventory system that convinced me.

You're probably thinking of Magicka, which has a very similar elemental fusion system.

In for $25, the "break out of jail" video looked like the game will be fun to play.

It's at $353K with 19 days left to go.

Dang it, I upped my pledge to $40 for the duo pack since my partner said she would like to play it with me.

Among the stretch goals, the personality traits looks most interesting.

I'd like to see them reach $800K for the "henchmen become companions" stretch goal, but as slow as funding has been going I don't have much hope.

It looks like it will be fun to play without that though, so no worries,

Yea. I'm not too sure but it seems like the Divinity games never received a lot of love. DKS was over-shadowed by the big AAA releases (and it didnt' help they had to released it with improvements) but I still felt DKS was much more enjoyable than the AAA games (that year). Divine divinity was compared to diablo 2 and I suppose graphically it was somewhat of similar quality but otherwise there was no relationship at all. Unfortunately the studio nearly went bankrupt hence the huge gap between game 1 and game 2. Hum. Oh well maybe they will get a big boost near the end of the campaign.

New game play video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NdKYGpGJKXA

If this doesn't hit at least 400k I'mma start slapping people.

^ this.
The game is obviously one of those thats worthy of decent backing, yet its only at ~500k or so atm.

It "looks" to me like its under performing "pledge" wise.

I cant think why that would happend.... bad time of the year? everyone already spent all their $ on other projects? saveing up $ for a PS4? whats going on? Diablo III hurts even now?

It is a bit hard to understand why RPG lovers would fund another RPG for millions and this one for not much over $500K for now.
