Saw it yesterday and my wife and I were both pretty meh about it. Our friend who came to the screening loved it.

It had moments but, over all, was not as clever as it thought it was. I particularly didn't like how the movie started as symbolism for -------- and ended as an action movie.

im a pussy, i hate Shaky cam........

get over it people. it's a style.
Take the movie for what it is. A bad actor I can understand... but the style of the movie deciding if you watch it or not is dumb.

i can't wait for D9 and i'm watching THL tonite!

Looks good, not your typical summer blockbuster.

and from what I read in EW, the way it's shot isnt typical either. Apparently most of the movie looks like security camera footage or TV news reporter footage (something like Cloverfield)

ugh, that's the worst.

It's one of those hand-cam movies. That alone is enough for me to rethink whether I want to see it or not.

I dunno. could be good or could be bad. have to wait and see

Take some Excedrine and a barf bag with you and report back to us

maybe if I was sitting in the front row

The acting was not good. I felt like I was watching a strange episode of the office, actually.

uh-oh.... I can't stand The Office.
The show sucks, I do however enjoy the camera style.
It's as if I can see what's going on in the next building's office.
An office where a bunch of jackass idiots are employed.

Only the framing device is the faux-documentary.

The shaky cam isn't nearly as bad as say cloverfield.

I don't understand why the "shaky cam" thing bothers people so much. As long as it's a good movie I don't even notice it.

I'll be checking it out.

Some people are just more prone to vertigo than others from movies & moving objects. It's especially bad in movie theaters where the screen takes up most of your field of view.

Trying to follow fast moving objects on the screen just overwhelms their visual senses.

It's not nearly as bad at home on a smaller TV when you have a static object like a wall or entertainment center taking up much more of your viewing field.

Because it tends to be more annoying to watch.

The short that he did was pretty cool. I like the shaky cam, if it's done well, and adds to the story and excitement.

This.

Just go watch his Halo Combat vids he had made. It is done well.

Cloverfield was boring as hell and the cams sucked, I didn't even finish it.

I got the same impression from the trailers. For the early ones, I was like "Hmm, seems kinda boring but might become the next Blade Runner", and then for the recent ones I was like "WTF, Transformers?".

Not a good transition of opinion for someone who hasn't even seen it yet.

Definately plan to catch a "double feature" of District 9 and Inglorious Bastards. I all but forgot GI Joe even had a movie coming out.

Is this code for theatre hopping? I haven't done that since 9th grade.
